TRIP REPORT | Delta Air Lines MD-90 (MAIN CABIN) Minneapolis to Atlanta

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Hello everyone, and welcome to this new trip report, on board a Delta Air Lines McDonnell-Douglas MD-90 from Minneapolis to Atlanta, in Economy Class (Main Cabin)! Delta's service was pretty good, but the MD-90 was particularly cramped, much more so than the 717. I welcome any feedback or suggestions for future trip reports! Hope you all enjoy.
Thanks for watching!

5:47 on the plane finally. You mentioned sitting in the back near the twin engines. I remember once being on an MD80, sitting in the rear. During the plane's descent I had a distinctly pleasant sensation that approached a blissful state. I attribute that near euphoria to the sound or vibration of the engines between which I was actually sitting. If I could get another dose of that I would do it.

Great video, Alex!! I love the MadDog engine sound at 08:50 just before climbing off ... It's insane!! And the climbing is so steep, isn't it?!

Well, had the B-717, continued to have been manufactured at the assembly plant in Longbeach, California, before Boeing had basically purchased McDonnell-Douglas, than the B-717, would have displayed the moniker of an MD-95. Great views on your trip.

My favorite plane in the Delta fleet is the MD88 cause their seats on those planes are so padded.

You learn something new every day. Never realised theyre in a 2-3 configuration. Superb trip report mate, really enjoyed it. I think you'll have to cut your legs off to be comfortable at 6,8 (speaking as someone thats 6,1 ) 😂 Very nice glimpse of the flight deck there at the end too, I make it a habit to try and visit each flightdeck so long as the crew are happy whenever I fly. Brilliant video Alex. Liked.

Just an FYI as of fall 2019 no more MD-88's or 90's scheduled thru MSP even tho once in awhile one comes thru as a sub aircraft or a charter.

DL fly just about everything between their hubs at MSP and ATL. Today (early February 2019), I don't see any MD-90s but there are several B737-900s, A321s and even a B777 flying the route! My guess is that they add flights during busier peak periods and that can include the MD-90; it has to be said that 2.5 hours in that seat does look a bit like a torture chamber for you, and even fairly uncomfortable for folks well under 6' 8" tall! The last time I flew between those two cities was well before DL and NW merged, that flight was on a Delta Boeing 727! I'm debating whether I want to fly on an MD-90 from El Paso (ELP) to ATL in the near future...that's blocked for more than 3 hours! Wheels up to wheels down is probably closer to 2 hours 45 min or so eastbound, but that is still a long way in an IFE-less Mad Dog! Thanks for posting, love the video! You definitely took 'one for the team' (the team being grateful KZread viewers!)

Im going to miss very much these planes when it gets all retired commercially including the md-80 and the md-10 family. The md 80 series doesn't got the much time left. They very close of getting retired.

Great video. Delta is probably the best of the worst US airlines along with AA and United (worst by a landslide). I either fly Southwest or I don't go anyplace. They are the only airline to actually be what they are...no nonsense. Board, pushback, fly and land. Crew is friendly and often fun and planes are not configured and reconfigured. Same leg room, same peanuts and a damned drink. Overall, their prices are lower.

A few days ago, I took the delta 757 200 from JFK, to Altlanta really bad delay, and it was raining, at the end of the flight I had to use the bath room and it took 12mins for the doors to open, if your reading this delta I won’t fly delta so much.
