Thank you for the information and explaining! It must be magical to meet the baby harp seals. The photos are so beautiful ( as always). Best wishes from Germany!
I would love to visit this place in the winter. I live in Montreal and I have a lot of experience in Photography. I would love to take pictures of them.
Thank you so much for posting your videos! I am a beginner photographer as well as a Canadian and have always wanted to do wild life photography! I didn’t even know that this place existed and I live near Quebec! Amazing! How much would you say this trip costs? Any tips as well?

Thank you for this important information. Perhaps Canada and Japan can launch a joint project in domesticating the baby and gradually adult seals. Not every breed of seal mind you, nor every breed of seal lions, but we can begin somewhere. I sure would go to a seal or sea lion petting sanctuary that is run by caring professionals. Thank you for sharing.

I have hope of going and watching the seals there. This year the National Geographic has an article on their website that complains about the lack of ice in the region. The article is from March of this year. Many harp seal babies died because of the lack of ice. Still, many of the babies that survived were washed ashore. Seeing baby harp seals in land is quite uncommon because they are supposed to be on the sea ice, floating and resting there. That is where they are safe. Many naturalists were concerned because when the babies are in land they can't defend themselves from predators. I watched a video yesterday where people were flying over St Lawrence and there was no good ice. It is possible that people can see some babies but when there is almost no ice, then it is more difficult. There are years where they get some ice and years like this one where you can't find almost any ice. I would like to see the harp seals anyway. Maybe the people who organize those vacations have specific spots where the animal can be found more easily. That's their job, so, they most have lots of information. I am a painter, not a photographer, but it most be a really soul warming experience. I love what you are doing! This is a really great job!

This is incredibly dumb to spread this info and have all these humans in this area, being right up in the personal space of these babies. You aren’t thinking of their well-being at all!! 😡😡😡
