It's a real bargain, indeed. Also it should work perfectly with Aputure's new tiny and powerful COB lights, the Amaran COB 60X and 60D that are made out of plastic and should be safer due to it's lighter weight at slightly above 1kg.

Thank you for this informative review. It was very helpful. What is the model number for this TRIOPO softbox? I want to ensure that when I order one that it is the model with the metal quick release clips rather than the old plastic ones. Also, do you recommend any suppliers at Ali Express?

Hey Steve I just received mine. The black fabric with metal rods came unconnected to the bowens mount. I am able to fit the metal rods into the bowens mount, but they don't click in and hold into place. The bowens mount easily detaches if I life it without supporting the weight of the black fabric. Any ideas why this is? Did yours come in two parts when it arrived?

Hey, no idea unfortunately! Mine came connected and one piece. Usually ones where you insert the rods is not quick release. At the Bowens mount mine are moulded to the plastic so cant be removed or it doesn't look like they can be. Maybe double check what you ordered or contact the seller if it looks incorrect.
This looks like it has a smaller footprint compared to a 90cm Parabolic softbox, Is that correct?

It you compare to something like the Aputure light dome ii then yes it's not as deep (~40cm Vs ~60cm) I don't have a light dome to measure just going off specs I have found.
what do you think about to pair this trip 90 with a godox 685?

Work fine I’m sure although if memory serves me the 685 is a flash. This is a bowens mount so you would need an adaptor

@@SteveHowkins sorry, yes it is the godox 685! the trip that I found on aliexpress has also the Bowens adaptor! my problem was that I thought the godox 685 could be to weak for a 90cm large octagon..
Is it work with godox 400ad pro ?

I have just had a look at that flash light and as long as you use the bowens adaptor (included with the flash) you are good to go.
