Typically, these surround sound systems boiled down to:
three speakers in front (Left, Center, Right) plus
either two or four "surround" channels to your sides and/or behind you, plus
the Low Frequency Effects (LFE) channel used by sound designers when they wanted to shake you up, as with explosions or threatening, deep bass in the musical score
Of course, mixing with these extra channels beyond simple stereo is a bit more complicated. But the principle is the same: if you want something to appear between two presumed speaker locations, you put some of that particular sound into both of those adjacent speakers… just like Frank.
INTRODUCING IMMERSIVE AUDIO “OBJECTS”
The answer: what if we take an entirely new approach that takes advantage of the incredible processing power we have today in computers and DSP chips?
All channel-based systems assume a specific arrangement of speakers and then leave it to the mixer to figure out which ones should be used to make a sound “appear” in a certain place. What if we change the approach?
How about attaching a simple description to each sound, describing where it is at any moment in time? This “metadata” (which simply means “data about other data”) could be updated regularly, perhaps in every frame of a movie, for example.
By changing the location metadata over time, we can make objects move. If we include all three dimensions (length, width, and height locations), we could make any sound or collection of sounds move around in the room in any way we wished.
Both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X Pro use metadata to describe sounds’ locations within the room.
CONCLUSION
We are all staying at home more these days. Do you feel the need to escape once in a while? While nothing will replace being able to get together with friends and family again, having an immersive sound system in your home can be the Great Escape you need in the here and now. It will also be a fantastic thing to share with your friends and family when that time comes around once again.

For the price... it better be! I just don't see the point of the 16 channel anymore with cheaper good enough options these days. 32 and 48ext still makes totally sense!
I gotta Trinnov - best purchase you will ever make. Yeah it’s crazy pricey but you get off the mouse wheel of upgrading every few years.
Can the Trinnov do five front speakers (Todd-AO) setup. Can it do Dolby Stereo 4.2.4. matrix and Perspecta Stereo Sound ?
Will you be able to come all the way to Africa to set up if purchased from you?

Does it have hdmi2.1 now or still hdmi2.0?
Don't get why you would have to bring "your" microphone on each visit, it's included in all altitude products according to the manufctor. And you can totally do the calibration or initial setup yourself if your an enthusiast. It's not that complicated if you take your time.

The microphone is an additional charge of $850. It is not included, and yes, of course if your an enthusiast that’s one thing. But there’s a ton of people that want this product but would have no clue where to start nor do they have the time or patience to mess around with setting it up

Trinnov is one of the best but not the only one, There is another that should be on par and in some areas surpass it in terms of Sound Quality and immersion experience. Comment below if you know what unit it is.

There’s nothing that can touch the upmixing capabilities, imaging, and correction of the trinnov. Storm and Datasat would be a distant second Then all the usual suspects; Arcam, Anthem, JBL Syn, Audio Control, etc

@@kellenfleener Have you heard the Storm recently? their bass management is amazing and i will take that over anything that Trinnov has. The upmixing of the Storm which is ( Storm XT Channel expander ) is the same as Trinnov upmixing.

@@TechinaSec101 trinnov can do the same with bass remapping and everything. I’ve heard it all except the Steinway and Sons processor. But would take Trinnov over the storm any day any time…

Nothing can be tweaked as much as the Trinnov products. They indeed are unique.
