How did you cut the j channel so it could bend in the curve

So that flexible j channel, does it age the same as the standard j channel along the bottom of the vent?

The J molding installed around the rounded windows is being done incorrectly. This should never be cut with multiple slits to facilitate the J molding being shaped into a curve. This destroys the water seal provided by the J-molding. The single bead of silicone sealer being applied is not adequate to prevent water from leaking through the bottoms of these cuts. Similarly, the 4-6" strip of waterproof tape being applied over these cuts is not sufficient to prevent water from leaking through since these stips do not cover completely the very bottom of the "slits" that have been cut. Our HOA has 15 homes that had similar slits made in the J-molding and all 15 homes have had significant water damage to the window frames, requiring about $2500 each to correct. Rubber J molding which is malleable enough to follow a curving window without being cut should have been used WITH NO CUTS IN THE FLANGE PORTION.

How do you cut the J channel for curved corners?

is that special J Channel or ..... just regular old channel that you relieve .... also you said to 'tightly secure' the J channel. Normally you leave the nails a little loose for expansion no? ....... this small piece doesn't matter for expansion?

Looks crappy!!!
