Fitting the chrome locking strip into a VW Westfalia Camper. Demonstration by Irwen Davson of 1st Autoglaze Tel 07973 451 070 who is based in Kingston, Southwest London. He did an excellent, and reasonably priced job.
Using a Diamond Lacing Tool, a blunt screwdriver, a mixture of detergent and water, and a pair of gloves. The replacement trim is from Ebay seller nev806m (Aka Frank Grote of www.vwbusparts.freeserve.co.uk/) There are two types of trim, a rounder one for the side windows, and another with a flatter profile for the front and rear windscreens.

This video is gold. It would have taken me a lot of faffing to figure out how to use the tool correctly. The guy is right, it is very tough work and sometimes very frustrating when the tool pops out after only a few centimeters of pushing.

Lifesaver. I bought the KS tools version with a big loop at 90 degrees and a roller on it. They explain exactly nowhere how to use it.

Thanks for the video, it took quite a bit of searching to find how to do it. I am replacing the sealing strips on my 1981 Eriba Puck and finding it difficult although I bought the seal and tool from Seals Direct. They haven't done a video on how to use their seals and tools, which I think is a bit remiss of them. I think the original strip and black seal are a bit smaller than the replacement sealing strip. But at least I know how to hold the tool and in which direction to feed the seal and which way round to hold the tool.

Thanks for sharing this /M8, it looks like tough work, that guy clearly knows what he's doing but even he found it hard. I could see the veins popping in his forearm. I need to do this on my Bay over the winter.

Great video. Just bought the tool from JK. For those that think that this looks hard try doing it without the tool!!!

Great video, although it still looks quite a difficult task. I'll try to fit my trims again, I gave up over a year ago.

Would this tool also work installing the trim into the rubber with the window & seal out of the car? Thanks for an awesome video!

There would be no need as the slot isn't compressed

Pull out with pliers - normally they're shagged and will last another 25 years !
