Steve Hunt His coma back in the 80’s killed his playing. He’s still amazing but he’ll never be the same - nothing to do with age either.

what I most admire is his picking technique.

yeah it's impressive. If I'm not mistaken it's called circle picking. One of the best Japan shredders Takayoshi Ohmura uses the same technique. Chek out his vid "The Cataclysm", you'll be very impressed)

JDMoran182 Holy Mother of Christ!! I did not know Mr. Ohmura! He is amazing! I'm convinced on the picking thing. They look pretty alike. I just can't figure out how does it happen. It is like if the movement is coming from the fingers, not from the whrist. For me, to pass the movement from the front arm to the whrist in my playing was already a hard battle. Now the next one is to pass it to the fingers. Thank for showing Mr. Ohmura, Sir!

Your right hand is absolutely astonishing, it reminds me of a technique i learned years back in order to play more relaxed, the thumb moves back and forth creating the alternate picking motion with minimized stress to the wrist or even the arm. But even knowing that, Malmsteen music is quite a challenge so you did an awesome cover. Hats of to you sir! ;)

+screwnailful Do you us your finger motion to do the Picking? Your thumb keeps moving al the time, you move it just to adjust the pick, or you actually use it's motion to hit the string? Because, at the same time your motion probably comes from the wirst in order to be so fast. Bu it is rare to see Thumbs moving for past picking. Thanks :)

The thumb movement is for changing pick slant angles for smooth string changing at high picking speeds.

My problem playing yngwie and Jason Becker has never been actually fretting the notes. Me being a right handed player, fretting the notes has always been an easy task for me, it’s all in the picking technique is where I lack. This guy and handful of others I’ve seen one youtube have that right technique which is hard to obtain the talent to do so, so great work!

Best accenting and intonation I've seen on this deceptively difficult piece. Better than Malmsteen himself cranks out live, most times he plays it. I can play this but nowhere near as clean as you can. Awesome!
