Hi. This is an eye opener. My daughter is almost 4 and used the Trilogy 100 at the hospital but they sent us home with the EVO. She is almost always with the cuff deflated when awake, and yeah the alarms are annoying. She can't speak and we are worried about this situation, she is off the vent for a few hours while awake during the day but most of the time she is on the vent, I was not aware how difficult it is to speak with this vent, I'm definitely going to show this to the doctor. I like my Trilogy EVO. It seems heavier than the Trilogy 100, but I have weak muscles, and so my assistance Josh carries it for me. Being that I'm legally blind, and my vision is deteriorating, if I need my settings adjusted, which is quite often, Josh has to do it for me. Either Him, my Mom, or my sister. I simply explain to them the proper method of setting adjustment, and they do it. I wanted to get the O2 cell to monitor the amount of FiO2, but my DME wouldn't get it for me. I also like the alarm bar when an alarm sounds. It's large and bright!

My patient just switched to the Evo from the 100, but she uses a bipap mask-no tracheostomy, so found it alarming a lot the first morming, then ran smoothly. I loved the 100, but will have to make up my mind about the Evo. New baby in the house, so will have to be careful when she gets older, so no access to the screen, and accidently change the settings. Patient doing well with it.

I know it's hard to bear, but the good news is that medical science is progressing and there will definitely be ways to treat it, so have hope in God, I hope that one day, God willing, there will be no sick people on earth.

Interesting, I had trouble tolerating the Trilogy 100 while sleeping and didn't have it long enough to try having my cuff deflated. I now have a Trilogy Evo and have not had any problems, first thing I noticed is how much quieter the Evo is with the same settings

Hello love your channel, just subscribed. My mother in law had a stroke that left her paralyzed on both sides of her body. She is improving with therapy but she also caught pneumonia while she was in the hospital and had to have a tracheostomy performed. To make a long story short, we need a ventilator but the ones you are displaying are very expensive, and she lives in the Philippines. Have you had any experience with the Home Medtronic HT70? Thank you for any info. - Matt

Hello. Thank you for subscribing. I am sorry to hear about all the challenges your mother in law has been through. I am unfamiliar with the Home Medtronic HT70. (In the USA, we mostly use the Trilogy, LTV and Astral series ventilators.) I did do some research. I found a KZread video about the ventilator. It describes the machine and how to program it. hopefully the trilogy 100 won't become obsolete because you sounded so breathless iwth the ego, it sounded as though you performed a high intensity interval training workout.

This is interesting, but concerning. When the Trilogy 100 came out, it had some skeptics, but it really proved to be an incredible machine. I hope that any issues with the EVO are worked out soon.

1.Can you please make a video on a whole process of how to connect a heated humdifier and ventilator and the tubings? 2.Also, what to do if a heated humdifier is not available in our country? Is there any subsititute available for a heated humdifier? Please reply soon if you can. Your videos are very helpful. 3.Can we use a boiled water in a water chamber of heated humidifier?

Hi. Just my two cents. If you can get a hold of HMEs (Heat and Moisture Exchanger) it helps. That's what we use for my daughter when going out, they cost about 1.50 each and they last 3 days before they have to be replaced. And probably running a nebulizer as needed will help in the absence of a heated humidifier (we do this once or twice a day with albuterol and saline water). Note for running the nebulizer has to be without the HME otherwise it gets clogged. As for the water, we use distilled water which cost about 1 or 2 dollars per gallon . I guess you can boil it and filter it , or buy a distiller machine. I think the problem would be if the water comes with residues, that can ruin the heater over time. I don't believe it's a hazard for the person (unless the water is not truly bacteria free). But I might be wrong as I'm not a doctor or respiratory therapist.

@ridacreates8860 Hello. 1. Yes, I can make a video on how to connect a heated humidifier. 2. If a heated humidifier is not available, a cool mist humidifier can be used. The cool mist has an air compressor with a water bottle attachment. If not using a humidifier, a heat and moisture exchanger (HME) can be used. Here is a video about using a nebulizer: kzread.info/dash/bejne/f4ZnlaePqNCrkag.html Please note, if using a tracheostomy tube and a ventilator, a heated humidifier should be used. Not using a heated humidifier may cause hypothermia, damage to the lungs and blood clots. 3. Boiled water should not be used in a water chamber. Boiled water will have minerals in it (and if the water is treated water from a water tap) it will have chemicals in it. The minerals will leave behind a residue in the water chamber. If the water has chemicals in it, the chemicals can damage the airway. Distilled water should be used in the water chamber. If distilled water cannot be obtained, boiled water can be used as a last resort.

Greetings, I just came across your channel. With my insurance recently changing, my provider for my ventilator changed. I’ve been trying to transaction from using the 100 to the evo.. For some reason I keep getting the circuit mismatch alerts.. My respiratory therapist can’t figure out the cause.. Have you had this issue? The circuit mismatch is the only alarm I seem to be having problems with despite me always having my cuff down.

There has to be something wrong with the settings on the Evo for it to cause such over-compensation. This has not been something that I have experienced in any patients with the Evo.

Thanks for the insight. My DME said they have this issue (with the Evo) with patients who have cuffed trach tubes and deflate their cuffs to speak. The Evo tries really hard to compensate for the leak the deflated cuff causes in the circuit. I have this same issue when using hospital ventilators.

@@LifewithaVent no dear, didn't use trilogy evo, we are still using Trilogy 100(older version). In India they didn't replace Trilogy 100 yet.
