The problem was that the whole line went like "by seeing your FAIR(whiter) skin, beyonce will feel shy/ashamed" they thought it would sound cute but people took a lot of offense and rightfully so as beyonce is a black woman and most indian women are brown skinned and its insulting to both.

For the Beyonce reference, the lyrics went "tujhe dekhke 'goriye', Beyonce sharma jayegi" where goriye translates to someone with a fair complexion. So yeah, it came off as racist and colorist and that's why people were mad.

The Beyonce song was probably about them calling a white skinned girl more beautiful than Beyonce.Its not direct but alot of these songs have that tone of preferring Fair skinned girls.If you remember that song called Chitiyan kaliyan,it literally is praising a girl for having fair skin.Thats so insensitive.

The lyrics literally mentioned ‘goriya’ which means white skinned. People did not think that, it was literally in the song, and I guess they never thought about skin colour while using Beyoncé’s name in the song and had to switch it to ‘world’ to not imply racism.
