I have a G19. I used all OEM parts and had the same issue after 100 rds. I was heartbroken. Took it back to the range and ran another 200rds and only has 1 or 2 failure to resets. A week later took it back to the range, ran 200 rds without any issues. Love this thing now

Biggest thing when putting a new slide on is make sure the safety plunger is sanded down and smooth and also make sure you have a oem glock recoil spring. I’ve never had any issues with ZP slides. Just make sure the safety plunger is sanded down and polished for perfect reset. Also use billet extractor for the smoothest extraction. And last thing but not least use gen 4 trigger housing.

Thanks for video. Doing research on Zaffiri issues and it looks like you're not alone. I do have a recommendation for shooting. It looks like you're anticipating the shot recoil which happens. You're leaning forward before each shot. Rocking back and forth can cause accuracy issues on target.

It’s the slide needing to break in. That’s all. I’ve used zafiri precision And on the little card they send, it clearly says 200-300 rounds to break in. It doesn’t take nearly that. After 2-3 mags, they usually run flawlessly ( as long as you machined your frame correctly) Has nothing to do with your ammo or mag needed “seated”, as long as the mags in all the way, that’s all it takes.

Sometimes you need to replace springs when you change out a slide, especially when it has slide cuts milled into it..

I just took my g26 zaffiri precision build with 407c to the range for the first time today. I was surprised a little that it had no flaws.

@@mikeliveslife7436 I just had an issue with my zaffiri 17 slide. The firing pin safety is 2 100ths farther out than oem and other slides. I did have an issue with reset. Trigger was slipping the connector. I'm putting oem back on

An out of spec connector is usually the issue for a Glock trigger to not reset. There has to be a certain amount of spring tension in the connector for it to work properly.

I put the org slide back on no problems. Something that other people said is the channel liner. I didn’t put that in the zaffiri slide. Haven’t had a chance to hit the range to check but will do soon. Stay tuned 🤙🏽🔫

Sometimes when you hold the slide while your racking it will not let the spring tension up. Thats why alot of people suggest the slingshot method. Noticed looked good when you used the slide release but when you racked the slide still holding it was when it was messing up

Your not alone. That slide is out of spec and this has happen to multiple people who purchased ZF slides. This is the reason I didn’t buy a slide from them form my build. I bought a couple of barrels from them but no slide. To many reported problems!

I had the same issue with mines. I almost cried. Ran about 150 rounds threw it so far and will be going shooting soon to figure out it’s broken in. I’m not carrying it for edc until it’s damn near perfect

I Got the same slide and was having ftf… received my new oem Glock extractor. Put it on today went to the range and had zero issues!! Hope this helps someone

Well after I put about 350 rounds through it I am pleased that it is smooth as silk. No more problems!

Make sure you installed the channel liner for your slide.

Just another idea aside from all the comments. I had this same problem. I fixed it with a zev connector or disconnector whatever you'd like to call it. The slide that has the proud lop to reset the trigger, was not engaging the connector. So I had to look at another manufacturer for the glock connectors. And found the zev to engage the slide better and reset my. Just another idea to look at. And it's a cheap fix. Obviously could be anything around that area.

What’s happening has todo with your connector located on the trigger housing. There’s a video on the tube that shows you how to adjust it accordingly

My Glock 43 slide I got from ZP failed to feed 75% of the time. New mag, slide lock, randomly 3-6 rounds in. All fail to chamber a round. 545 rounds in with various ammo. HST, Federal, Fiocchi, Winchester 124/115 grain, LAX New & Reloads. All had issues. Cycled four different barrels into the slide, 3 of the four barrels are OEM 43 barrels and still failure to feed. Tried the barrels on OEM slides including the ZP barrel, no issue. Used the ZP parts kit and it made my trigger extra heavy and the slide would jerk dry firing. Swapped parts to OEM parts and no issues dry firing. The slide still have failure to feed after 545 rounds. Contacted ZP and they've blocked me on all social media and emails. I didn't say anything negative about them until they blocked me when I asked for a refund and that they need to do a QC check on their slides. I had 4 people reach out to me with the same issue. I hope you get it figured out.

@@Richfades I'm still sitting on the paperweight slide. Lost $350, ZP is pathetic. They may have some decent slides but their customer service is garbage and whoever handles their social media outlets are snowflakes.

I have the same problem with my ZP slide and still dont know what's going on with it even if I replace my oem trigger it still won't let the trigger reset after firing the first round (Glock 17 Gen5)

That's your connector bend or cruciform to striker lug engagement..try oem trigger bar.

you ever fix the issue? Mine ran flawlessly out the gate, granted I only shot 100 rounds but not a single issue. Hope you got it fixed, this was my worst fear spending all kinds of money pimping out my gun and then it doesnt run right. Glad I got lucky, hope yours is running good by now, sweet looking gun.

Dont get to deep in ammo send it back to Zaffiri to have the uppers checked out could be out of spec. Put it back to orginal and if it works its not the gun its the upper. Zaffiri will take care of you.

Due to the height difference from your oem glock slide and your ZA slide. your striker is not getting picked or reset bend that little tab at the back of your trigger arm and your trigger reset problems will go away.

check your ammo. i got a bad batch of 9mm and 7/7 of my handguns didnt lock back. switched ammo and problem solved.

I watched your other video of you building it. You may be having a problem because I didn’t see you put a firing pin sleeve in the slide when building it a lot of slides don’t come with firing pin sleeves. You have to put one in that may be why your have a problem?

Make sure you glove thumb is not hitting the cool cuts on the side of the slide and riding it.

I ran the first mag through the same setup yesterday and it did the same thing. Going off comments in here I’m just going to do a few more mags to see if it improves.

You may need a heavier guide rod spring, the one you have probably too late

Yes it’s the factory Glock lower. I forgot 2 replace the channel liner when I swapped the ZP slide. It runs like a champ. Check my latest TRIGGER THERAPY vlog to see how it went

You only bought a barrel not the slide 2. The problem I had was due to me not putting a channel liner in the zaffiri slide.

Definitely forgot to put the channel liner in looool. I did that one time on my p80 build. Did the same shit.

Shooting -especially with a hand gun - is a perishable skill. Gotta train. Get yourself a half slide plate from brownells. you can watch whats happening inside the slide while it functioning to maybe diagnose the problem. sometimes the connector is bent outboard and hitting the slide. that cause that.

I don’t have a ZP slide on this on but I recently bought a p80 from them and it came with there barrel so we’ll see how that goes

Keep the muzzle pointed down range, at 5:31 you pointed the gun at your arm and behind you. Most good gun ranges would and should make you leave. Get some training before you hurt yourself or someone else.

I did a ZP build that had issues with any reset. I was just coming off an 80% arms build where the reset was intermittent like yours. First, check that the connector is resetting when the slide starts to cycle rearward. Burrs on the connector can cause hang ups on reset. Next check that the cross looking piece on the back of the trigger bar is moving up slightly when the connector resets. Next see if the striker is contacting the back of the cross piece on the trigger bar and pushing it forward to reset as the slide moves into battery. That’s where my problems were on both guns. The trigger bar is stamped steel. Sometimes it isnt stamped enough and the back of the trigger bar isn’t bent up enough for the bottom of the striker to grab it and send it into reset. Last thing could be the trigger bar contacting the frame and causing too much friction. But usually it’s the back of the cross on the trigger bar not bent up enough. Sidebar, not all trigger bars are built to the same quality. I have a Boogeyman excommunicado that runs flawlessly in a factory Glock. The steel on the trigger is highly polished and thick. I have a Zev pro. Thinner steel but still highly polished. Had to be bent up to run. Lastly was a ZP trigger in the ZP build. Not polished and thinner steel. Needed bent. But of all three triggers, it’s the one that has a crisp wall and breaks like a snap.

Thanks for the info. I replace the channel liner n the ZP slide and she runs like a champ. I am currently building a ZP p80. I am looking into replace the trigger any ways from what they sent anyways but hopefully I won’t run into many issues.

@@mikeliveslife7436 if you keep running into reset issues on builds they sell a clear or a half Glock backplate so you can look in and see what is happening with the trigger reset and the striker connection. It’s a cheap armorers tool, $10 in some places. Worth the investment if you build or customize.

Is everything else OEM Glock? Reason I ask is because each manufacturer allows for different tolerances. Since you are running an aftermarket slide, you are messing with those tolerances. Now the simplest way to curb this is to make sure all the internals are OEM parts. This usually corrects the issue. I have 3 serialized p80 lowers with ZP slides and two of them had this issue. First time was my fault. After assembly, I failed to properly seat the disconnector. Second time was inadequate sear engagement. Basically the striker was not catching on the cruciform. I had to modify the trigger bar and change out the striker to get better engagement. I’ll attach a video of what to do. There is this guy named Johnny Glock who shows you how to diagnose the issue.

Bought the same. Slide with barrel and internal parts. Having the same problem. Went yesterday to the range super excited with my OR ZP slide and failure to feed every 2-3 times for each shot. Was super frustrated. Some guru Glock guys at the range say needs to break in but I think there’s something wrong. Let me know if you find a solution. Spent some $$$ for this beauty but can carry it if my life depends on it.

Nothings wrong with your slide. Every slide needs a breakin period especially when it has fresh cerkote work done its part of this hobby.
