I've got a little twig stove from Aldi, works great. The bushcraft snobs may prefer a diamond encrusted titanium, NASA built astronaut stove, but quite frankly it works. If you're so worried about carrying a few extra grams, don't go out.🇬🇧🇩🇪👍

You can't beat aldi and lidl for unexpected bargains! Their gardening sections each spring are especially good value.

This was awesome!! I have one myself but it's smaller. I didn't know they made larger ones so I went straight to Amazon and found the titanium version that I'm definitely going to buy one

I got the smaller version without the pin in titanium for about a tenner. It lives in my bike pannier bag called kitchen with a bcb and mess tin set, packed with brew and noodle packs. Good video, yes I vouch for them too. I think for a touring cyclist a must have, especially when gas is getting expensive and scarce.

Hi I've had the smaller version of this stove for a while and been happy with it for a quick brew but it doesn't have the capacity of this one which after watching this video I've brought, o the joy of coals to cook over . thanks for all the excellent content learning lots 👍.

Great review of a great bit of kit. I’ve had one of these for over a year and it really is so simple to use and the weight really isn’t a problem. I have recommended them to my friends.

I have this stove 1 tip for using it is get rid of the 2 top bars you put your pots on they are useless especially when using a meths stove I use 4 steel tent pegs so once you have used the meths stove and want to snuff it out the pegs come out easily whereas with the bits you get you will have trouble getting them off to snuff it out

Neil, I have this stove and it really is as simple and reliable as you say. I'd love to have a Bushbox or a Firebox but the Firebox 5" weighs 2 lbs. The Bushbox weights 1 lbs but they're expensive. I do have a Firebox Nano and that works very well but it cost nearlyh $50 while the Lixada is only $20. Seems like a no brainer. Love your videos. Keep going.

Nice review. I have this stove and have nothing but positive things to say about it. It's a really nice light and compact alternative to a gas canister style stove, or indeed alcohol stove where the fuel and fuel bottle adds a lot to weight and bulk to what you are carrying compared to this Lixada twig stove. Always lots of twiglets around for fuel, and you need surprisingly few twigs to boil some water for a cup of coffee or tea or to make a pot noodle style meal. I love having a real fire to cook on rather than gas flame too. It adds to the fun. With free fuel v the need to pay for fuel alternatives (gas or alcohol fuel) this really is a great, highly convenient, value for money cooking option to boil water and enjoy cooking on an open fire. I tend to use it as a day trip option. If I am camping out overnight and plan to cook a more substantial meal I bring along my gas stove to cook on. But the twig stove is often used to have a mini camp fire to take the edge off the chill of the evening.

Nice review Neil; I've got both the large & small versions of this item and they do the job no sweat, especially good if you just wanna make a brew when out and about. I tend to put mine on a small SS plate which means that it also collects its own ash residue and LNT on the ground (no burn marks etc). Anyway keep up the good work, like your channel a lot. Have you seen the Richard outdoors fire trough mini, he does a bigger one as well, he does a stainless one only,it slots together, comes with a meths burner adapter, as well, or takes a gas burner, About £50 squid

I bought a no name version of this for just £12 on ebay a couple of years back, but it's the smallest model, about 10cm/4in high and 6cm wide. Originally I had bought it to use as a stand / windshield for my Trangia burner which it is perfect for. However I started using it more and more as a twig stove as it really does the job well, and to save on meths. If you have lots of dry deadfall lying around, you can get it going in about 1 minute if you use some paper or tissue to start it off, and the boil time once it's going is faster than a Trangia. A handful of twigs is enough for a brew. Furthermore despite it being really small I can keep it going for around an hour no problem without having to empty it, and cook a proper meal and boil water for a brew and washing up afterwards.

One word of caution to those in the market; the smaller twig stoves are harder to use than their bigger cousins in that it's more difficult to create a heart in the fire especially when the fuel is damp and they need to be fed more frequently.

@@Asdf-789 Yep the small ones are great, if you have enough dry wood lying around you can get it going in around a minute, and a handful is enough to make a brew, with a very quick boil time.

Yeah i like it. But i don't need it. All i need is a small scoop so i can make an earth rocket stove. It even is a bit stealthy. Because you dig a little hole and with a small hole to it and you have the same thing really. No extra weight and no costs

I've got this stove and I also have a bushbox lf. The bushbox is 3 times more expenceive but in my opinion is 3 times better if not more, no need for mods, folds out completely no assembly to speak of, stonger, tougher, no fiddley bits to lose, more well thought out just the superior stove. For me rough n ready stoves are great and serve their purpose but you simply cannot beat bushbox if you want a bomb proof item that'll stand the test of time and I just don't think my Lixada will be handed down to the grandkids it'll be my bushbox all the way.

I bought the Bushbox LF Tianium and returned it because its the exact opposite of your description, and although its 3 times the price ,its 3 time inferior ! Its loose and unstable, wobbly, badly fitted fire sticks, fidgety to assemble and put away, does not fit properly in the multifunction lid, and when in the lid its a pain to put in the pouch.

Had one for ages … no complaints at all.

But, I don't understand. If you're going to gather you fuel, why carry a stove at all? What does this do for you?

well... for fun.... and its a contained burn, you can keep it off the ground if necc..... its a good platform for pots and pans. you can also use it as an alcohol stove stand.
