Wooohoo, finally someone made a video how to stop, when you are skating fast and downhill. The knee advice.. so simple, but so needed.

The little switch of leading foot just before you turn 180 is called an “illusion” in the rollerblading world!

Ahhh yes this makes so much sense! I always wondered exactly what that meant when they said illusion this or illusion that. Makes so much sense thanks for sharing 💕
I'm glad to see you doing tutorials again. You've always been such a great teacher. I get a lot out of your in-depth explanations.

take baby steps out of your comfort zone. don't push yourself hard right off the bat cause then you'll get hurt and not want to skate more
Love that Indy edited the video to explain the leading leg in more detail (cause i was confused) such a great teacher! ty!
idk why but i have refused to do the toe drag or the t-stop since when i started LOL! i like the plow stop and the one you teach in this video the most
@jordanian.

Same! The T-Stop makes me fall backwards, and the toe drag makes me feel like I’m going to fall into a split

t-stops make me feel like my knees are going to pop out and the feeling of the wheels dragging is gross to me lol
Wow this is a GREAT tutorial!!! I’ve always wondered how people do the swivel move. This was broken down very well and super seats to understand, thank you!!
I love that you’re still out there doing your thing and bringing the joy of skating to the masses. Keep shining, Indy.
i took a break from watching roller skate videos but now im getting those vibes all over again and all i want to do is go somewhere hot and SKATE

I skated my new quads last night, and I'm in love! Thanks for being an inspiration and teacher ⛸
Please tell me at the end of your video, what camera do you use? Thank you 🙏🏻
I started off my skate lifestyle doing lots of downhill and speed skating (San Francisco). And I've also acquired my worst fall ever and some real good road rash. My only regret that day was not using my knee pads. I had practiced bailing at high speeds in a controlled situation but froze up on the real thing. Hit the ledge, superman flew, and road rash all of my forearms, thigh, and back 😭 took 2 months for the open wound to heal and 4-6 months for the nerve damage to heal 😅😅😅 didn't touch a hill for 4 months, have never touched the hill I fell on even though I live on it 😂

Omg i found your channel a day or two ago and just finished watching ALL of your instructional videos even from 4 years back and the one video i've watched multiple times was your video where you showed how to stop fast from years back. Seeing you post this today made me so happy bc as much as i loved your old videos, it's so nice to see an updated version! Also, now i dont have to scroll so far back to find it! :)
The last few minutes of you skating in Galveston was the high point of the video!

Just the smallest things like practicing on the grass! Always so informative and a lot of fun to watch and learn with you! Thank you for sharing your tips😊
Wow. I have been struggling with my 180s front to back and after watching this I can do them flawlessly both ways. I know thays not what the video was supposed to be about but seriously thank you for making this one.
Hi from Switzerland! Thanx for all your videos!
I was literally going to search for this exact tutorial and then saw you uploaded it today! Thank you for this literal lifesaver!
You’re a joy to watch Indy, keep up the great work!
Thank you SO MUCH
I learned this today after watching your video a few times. Thank you for the. Tutorial. Please post more!
Quite a helpful explanation! I haven’t even finished watching the video(yet!). I think this will be useful in more ways than one! Thank you. I’m excited to apply this to my practice. I once kept my balance by an unintentional jump and landed to avoid falling when I went over a speed bump fast. I like the space pants!
I love you so much I just wanted to let you know I have been rollerskating for a year and watching your videos really give me confidence and you’re the reason why I started rollerskating❤️❤️❤️
Such a helpful tutorial, thank you! Your outfits are always the best too.

Thanks!! I'll try it tomorrow
Great skating tutorial! Thank you for sharing your skills!

Thank you for sharing :D
I could have used this when I was going full speed down a small hill towards my boyfriend a few months back 😂😂 he caught me so we good but holy shit it was terrifying, haven’t tackled a hill since. 😂😂😂 Thankyou for this tutorial 🙏🏽🙏🏽🌈💖

Weeee happy to help!
Thank you for this Video! It's helped so much!
Well I didn't have to actually touch the concrete with my knee. However I was in my so called rollerskates derby boots and was doing my program that got me a gold medal on ice. I complete the two foot turn when I suddenly hit a down slope, didn't see it coming. I remembered this advice and dropped low to my toe stop. I think this saved my life thanks.
Can you do a video on tips and tricks on how to protect or help your toes from pain, blisters etc that you can experience with skating and ways to avoid it.
this is a game changer! off to practice tomorrow morning!
Thank you. I think it'll really help 🖤✨
Thank you so much for this video. I can turnaround toe stop at slow/medium speed but I really need to nail this for high speed as I have many steep hills around me. At the moment I'm having to be careful to turnaround before the hill starts to take me!
i love how you say "not difficult" instead of saying "easy" because sometimes it's not easy for everyone 😊
It also looks really fricking cool! My first pair of skates won't be here for another at least two months but I'm binging these kinds of videos and practicing on my socks on the floor and it's a lot of fun allready haha
You are so cool, I wish to have people like you in Switzerland ♡
Oh my god everytime you post a new video I get sooo happy :D you’re actually one of my favourite yotuubers!!!! Your tutorials are the best!! I started skating in September and I’ve progressed a lot from your tutorials!!!! :D
So useful!!!
I started skating a month ago. So glad to see you are in Galveston now! 💕 💕 💕
I would love to take classes with you !!!
Hii , i love your vids so much ive been subbed for a while now 🥰 thanks for all your help :)
I was in Galveston today! Wish I had seen you out there!
thanks so much! when i go down this steep but short ramp i go fast like FAST xD and i cant controll my self so this helped!
Nice video. We'll have to start practicing that. it's crazy though how the most important thing to learn (how to stop fast in case of danger) is also one of the hardest.
Omg thank you so much!!!! I literally just injured my knee sooo bad and I’m on crutches because I panicked when going fast and couldn’t stop correctly. Can’t wait to get back on skates with this knowledge!

Greetings from Costa Rica, my wife and I we decide to start skating again since 30 years ago, I was 12 years my last time and Im starting from nothing again, Im a musician and I compouse retrowave music and is perfect to skate, I love mix my music whit skating and your videos are super fun and helpful and of course motivating, please never stop to making videos and tutorials, we are happy to see your tutorials, and we hope you come to Costa Rica soon, Morgan was here 1 mont ago and was amazing to meet her and we want you here too, we are planning some music festivals in roller skates, maybe next year you can come to one of our festivals, sending hughes, thankyou.
Hii ur my idol ilysm ur what got me into skating ur amazing xxxxxx
I luv ur vids
I wondered what it would be like to skate in Galveston. I bet that sidewalk is quite bumpy. What a nice day you had to hit the coast! Stopping has always been my skating crux. I have skated for literally DECADES and I still hesitate with that decision, at times. At least at the rink you can just slam into the sometimes carpeted wall. LOL. Thanks for the tips!

Love this video, 2 questions, 1. what is a good pair of beginner skates to get, I've only skated once at a skate party 2. Where do you teach your class?
Getting back into skating , cant wait to get those moxi beach bunnies when I can 😭 yes I was one of those who almost got the Chicago skates just because I miss skating SO bad. Much love from San Diego ❣ awesome channel
That's crazy! I was wondering if that was Galveston!
Nice! learned this in practicing 30min. Clear steps to follow! thanks :)
i just bommed my first hill a few days ago!! it was really nerve racking :)
Just got some impalas for my bday but will get a bigger one since mine fits but won’t last long. I tried it tho and it was fun to learn and easier bc I used to inline skate and ice skate so I could move forward easily! I’m excited for their next restock so I can get bigger ones!!
I am a HUGEE fan and all ur vids help me alot I watch u all the time 😌🥺
Hey Indy, can you do a review on Nomad Story Skates?
This whole time I was wondering where the hat was! Also thank you Indy for the tips!!!

The is also a great transition vid
