Was shocked to see the old clunker welder still going strong! It's more than paid for itself over the years. That is a serious amount of work that you've done to the trailer.

Yeah me too. It's a beast. I wish it had more paint on it and tie downs but for the price I'm not complaining. The trailer will be a good start for me.

I’ve been wanting to get this trailer for a while to haul my Ford 8n around behind my 2004 Silverado. Looks like a pretty good trailer you but you seriously made it a nice piece of equipment out of it!

Thank you. We have an 8n as well. It will fit on there with no issues even with an attachment. There's some things I didn't like the more I looked at it, but for the price I'm not complaining. It has a lot of value compared to other trailers of this size. Thanks for watching!!!

My wife and I bought a brand new double axle trailer the same as the one you have and a week after owning it the ramp hinge broke they would not honor any repairs carry-on has to warranty it and there is no shop around here where I live to fix it so that is the only issue besides carrying on nailing the boards to the frame instead of using screws and they covered the pockets with 3x3 tubing how the heck are we supposed to put sides on it

Sorry you are having issues with yours. I have loaded and unloaded a 4000 lb mini excavator multiple times across that ramp, and it seems to be holding ok for now. The mesh has bent, but that's normal. I did do some extra welding to the angle iron on the very back of the trailer. That ramp does seem somewhat light duty for my needs. I didn't like the board fastening as well. Mine are carriage bolted down now. It's a great budget trailer, though. They have gone up about $1500 since buying mine pre-covid. Thanks for watching.

Oh that's cool. I used that welder in the end of this video. I'm probably around 50 to 60 lbs of welding wire through that machine. It's a great welder.

I have the same trailer. How does the ramp hold up to the bobcat driving up it? I have a 4000 pound tractor I want to load up, but I’m afraid the ramp won’t hold it

The ramp holds the Bobcat good. Make sure you drive it up on the supports and not just the mesh. The mesh on mine is bent in a few spots, but not bad enough to replace.

I have the exact same trailer , bought from tractor supply , jw was ur wood flooring also nailed down into the metal beams as well i am doing the same thing but I'll be hopefully using diamond plate as the sub flooring but i was also wondering where did ur support braces go that fit underneath the trailer , there should be 4 L metal brackets that help distributing the weight of the load they fit right over the axles but if you took urs off i dont blame u i had to jack my drivers side up to rotate the tires and when i went to go to lift the trailer the p.o.s welds that held the L bracket on broke , but thankfully the only welded two spots not front and back like they should've done , also what type of paint did you use , i am looking to re paint the entire trailer after having to replace the trailer wiring for the 5th time , whoever ran the wires on my just didnt care , and now I've gotta well I'm pretty sure redo the brake wiring , my brake controller says open short trailer wiring so ive redone the entire wiring all the grommets to help shield the wiring and yes u will rub against those wires , and well actually its about the warranty as to why they dont add any D hooks defacing of the trailer adding or deleting to the trailer will automatically void ur warranty so if ur wanting to keep ur warranty be careful , i know for sure they will pay u back if you had to pay for stuff outta pocket and they didnt hold my weed eater rack and blower racks , cause like i told them , i literally got everything from tractor supply , like my gorilla lift and weed eater rack , tail lights metal guard oh yeah and my 10,000 pound winch but thank you for posting this video

Yeah, the wood was just nailed down. Some of the nails had broken. If I did it again, I'd use diamond plate as well. Yeah, theres 4 brackets that hold the axles to the leaf springs. I'll have to look at those to see if any of them have broken. Is that what you are talking about? I used rustoleum gloss black. If I did it again, I'd use some black truck bed liner off Amazon. The wiring on mine wasn't the greatest, but I think they improved it since you bought your trailer. They used those scotch locks on mine that don't hold up. I definitely wish it had tie downs, but when I install them myself, I can put them where I want to. Thanks for watching and commenting.

The 4 24" 3×4 angle you are referring to is only used when the trailer is unloaded at TSC by a forklift with standard forks. If the trailer doesn't have them, it's because it was a special order. I'm a welder Carry On, and I build this trailer almost exclusively.

Lol, it took a lot of work to get this trailer fully decked out, but I'm glad I did it. Hope you get yours the way you want it. It's a great trailer with good bones. Yard sales usually have tools. I primarily use harbor freight.

Please tell me how what metal you used to close off the sides. I got the same trailer and looking at what thickness metal to buy and sizes.

  • @Lanninglongarmmowing

It was probably around a 1/16 to 1/8. I would probably go thicker next time. 3/16 would be a lot better. It doesn't dent as easily.

So you tacked you’re inside side pieces to the top rail without sanding off the paint? Couldn’t tell in the vid.

Good question. I thought I did but maybe I didn't. The steel was pretty thin on those two pieces though. I put a lot of tac welds on those pieces.
