This vid is worth its weight in gold!
Ha Ha Ha I can’t wait to show this to my husband tonight. I watched him cuss and struggle trying to install that screen for well over an hour. If a picture is worth a thousand words, your vlog is priceless! Thank you Darin again for your expertise and countless experience.

Lol. This was me just now!
Thank you. I would have never gotten them on without this video.
Thanks! I had forgotten about the special tool!
Great info! I think I understand the points you were making, I just wish you would have filmed them closer-up without the camera bounce. But thanks so much for taking the time to post the tip!
Thank you Darren. You indeed solved the problem I was having. Should have watched this first before cussing for 1/2 hour having no luck. Did your way and was done in 5 minutes. Awesome video!
THANK you for this! You saved me hours of frustration. I looked at this and said there must be an easier way, and here it is! Great video.
Always love "tips and tricks." 3 minute install, thank you!
I applaud you for the tips, your ability to explain is excellent. God forbid you do a repair without rain!
I don't know about others, but I have to "channel you" spirit-wise when I work on stuff in my RV. It's WWDD (what would Darren do). Haha! Thanks!
Thank You MyRVWorks!!
You made it look so easy!

Very helpful. I would not have figured it out. If you update the video, please hold the spring steady for a second through each step so we can see exactly what you are doing. do. I reviewed/stopped the video several times to see exactly what you were doing. Thank you.

You're welcome!!
Watched this video and figured if you are showing how to use them, I should get some. Then I saw a video showing how much air flow is reduced by them and that it may even void the warranty. So,........ what say you oh great RV repairer of the beautiful Pacific Northwest, screens for propane exhausts and fridge vents? One or the other? Thank you, operator’s are standing by waiting for your answer.
Hello Daren. Would you recommend using the screen or does it cause resistance to the furnace.?
So after coming in frustrated an hour after trying to get 4 of these on, I’m going to give it a try again with this trick. Lol.
Dang it I’ve lost my little tool! Great tip! Thx!

find a small screwdriver or a sturdy wire and file a V in it.
Do you need the square one? Or will the round ones work?
Can we get a link to that screen?
Safety Wire works really well

As long as it is up the correct weave. Some folks have used screen to cover it and that actually restrict the flow of air in and out of the ports.

We used to safety wire just about every nut on USAF planes.
Cannot find your fancy little screwdriver looking thing.....where do I find it?

Gracias por tu comentario, tal vez algún día haré uno en español para ti ... ¡Feliz campamento!
Was that just a flathead screwdriver?

That's a little tool that usually comes packaged with the screens. Think of it as an inverted screwdriver. It's got a slot in the end where you hook the spring.
Toss the springs that come with it. They're weak and stretch. They easily fall off if bumped while washing rv. Go to ACE they have stronger SS springs which hold the screen much tighter to the rv.
Damn, I did all of mine the hard way !

LOL! I fumbled with these things until I took a few moments and really studied the pesky springs. Once I found that flat spot it made a world of difference. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Darren
A little better detail on been in the screen hook would be helpful
Why in the HELL don't RV's come with screens already on!!!!!
ummmm thats restricting airflow, those arnt allowed . if i see one i take it off and keep it

Restricting airflow... ?
@RADMAN752
3 жыл бұрын
@@revanjg yeah they restrict combustion airflow especially when they get dirty
must have been a university engenierre that work a stupid way to attach a guard like that ,,,maybe NASA ,,,,, far out i would have tossed that in the bin the first 5 seconds
Dumbest design I’ve ever seen. Should just make the screen a touch smaller and have a flange that uses the 4 screws that are already there.
