I just got my TJ/w Hardtop and it leaks. Was wondering how hard it was to remove and replace by myself. Now I know it can be done. I'm a problem solver. As I watched you install your top, I realized it would much be easier if you had a bank (or loading dock) that you could back up to that was nearly even with the bed of the Jeep. Then you just walk straight into the back with the top on your back. Thanks Mr. Brian!

Usually I have a block to step up onto. Realized I was missing it when I went to step up. Much easier with one. Hope your hardtop is all fixed and watertight!

I can't spare the garage space.

You got plenty of trees around there. Get some rope and then hoist the damn thing up. You can back your Jeep right up to it. You won't even break a sweat.

Yeah Bud. I have ccx a 91 YJ. If I do that, I will be found laying on the ground. Foaming at the mouth. I took a boat trailer winch. Installed a pulley on my carport ceiling. Crank the top up. Back the jeep in place. Crank it down. Drink a cold Yuengling beer.

I won’t be doing it by myself you sir is strong as hell

It's not that heavy if you take small steps. Long legs help.

Yes there is a 1 inch wide metal strip that screws into the hardtop and the top frame of the Jeep.

I have just bought a 1984 Renegade with soft top. He also gave a me hardtop for it. I have never installed one. So if my question is odd, I have no idea how to secure the front. No hardware was given to me. I have the 8 bolts for the back, but the front is a mystery.

@@kellywales4059 look at a junk yard or a jeep stripper. Should come with the Hardtop.

If you get it up onto your upper back more - it's a little easier to get it up onto the Jeep. I also use a few bags of mulch/sand to make a poor man's stair so I can get on onto the tub sides with the top.

The hardtop offers a lot more strength in the winter. We get a bunch of snow.

Not sure but it might be a little too big and bulky to do yourself. Probably only a few pounds heavier.

you probably understand that the internet invites very harsh criticism, so I won't say anything about your woman leaving the scene... however, this was a half-assed demo, as you've already gotten suggestions, and mentioned you do it differently normally. but for what its worth, thanx it lets us know its possible.

Can someone tell me the point of a bikini top?

Looking at how that tailgate is sitting, I'd be willing to bet $ that you have your hinges on upside down. ....Just saying. Tailgate should be flat, you should be able to sit on it. Hinges on upside down gives you that slant.
