Tribute to Pink Floyd - Saucerful of Secrets Finale on Pipe Organ
#pinkfloyd #celestialvoices #pipeorgan
With its parallel harmonies, simple and funereal tonal perspective, this piece is a good way to experience instrument registration through the use of the crescendo pedal. Thanks for watching!

Just like the original
Rick Wright was a vastly underrated member of Pink Floyd.

He was the truly Pink Floyd Sound.
I was sat next to the Organ in Birmingham Town Hall when Rick jumped up to the organ and played this at a Floyd concert, and when he drew the 32' pedal stop toward the end I nearly dropped my spliff!
I want this played at my funeral.

Beautiful. I can only imagine how breathtaking that must sound through a pipe organ in a cathedral. Thanks for sharing this.

Yes, the sound of the pipe organ has a very special acoustic and physical dimension: it has a certain magic that no sampler can reproduce. I've played on a variety of instruments, digital and acoustic, and enjoy both. But nothing compares to the sound pressure real tubes produce. Thank you for your kind comment.
i could listen to this 100 times and not get tired of it
Magnífico, Richard Wright se orgulharia

Better with voices 😁. And he did « the great gig in the sky », later.
From one Joe to another - fantastic interpretation and choice of registration! I'm thankful this was in my recommendations. I'm a huge fan of the early Floyd sound. I know Rick would be proud. Well done!
Absolutely magic! I wish I could be there to feel all the power of the organ! Bravo!
Fantastic performance, I've played it at least 25 times, absolutely beautiful

Sublime...
I expected more when I clicked this. But nice and well done.

Thank you very much for your kind comment Armando. But probably due credit should go to the author, Rick Wright. He managed to insert the sound of a baroque (and liturgical) instrument into a psychedelic musical context. In doing so, he also pointed us the way back. Personally, I feel that a lot of psychedelic music also has some sort of liturgical spirit.
Parabéns, muito bom!

Danke Dieter!
bravo

It seams he just plays one of the current chord notes, very likely the fundamental or the third wuth some passing tones. See the author's version: kzread.info/dash/bejne/jK6tvJOCgrConLg.html

@@xochitlmunguiapelayo6867 - General lines is just that. Once you have mastered the upper melodic line and the bass line together, just fill in the harmony with the internal voices without exaggeration. On the piano, doubling the bass in octaves with your left hand works very well. In this video I do not always use such device because the pedalboard fulfills this function with many advantages. I suggest using the authors' original audio version as a reference: kzread.info/dash/bejne/aKOLsaWonsm7hps.html "Celestial Voices" starts at 8min.30sec. Good luck!
