I had the privilege to see Joe in his first season when he joined the Oak Ridge Boys. Thank you Joe for your ministry and dedication to performing with excellence!

We made a special effort to see him in concert a couple of weeks before he had to retire. It was sad to see him having to be carried out onto the stage. He could not stand but did a great job.

I went to my first Oak Ridge Boys concert in 1983, and was hooked! Every time they came to the Sunrise Musical Theater in Sunrise, Florida, my sister and I were there. I had tickets a few years ago for where I live now, but my husband had a heart attack and then a triple bypass, so I didn’t get to go. That was their farewell concert. I was hoping that they would come back. I will miss you Joe, but still listen to your music every day. Thank you for bringing joy and the gospel into my life!

Oh my God. Another soldier has gone home. Rest in eternal peace. You blessed us with your singing, and now you are dancing with saints gone before us. There will be a meeting again.

I have personally met with the Oak Ridge Boys several times over the years. You ask Joe about sitting on my Honda Gold Wing and he'll tell you all about that time at Ponderosa Park in Salem, OH in 1983. All of the guys are outstanding human beings, especially Joe. Bill & Leila says "hi" to the ORB!

My mom took me to my first concert, it was the Oak Ridge Boys at the Indiana State Fair back in the early 80's. Flash forward 40+ years... Now Joe is retiring and mom is in the hospital facing a possible cancer diagnosis. Regardless of what the outcome may be, thank you all for the memories. Good luck and best wishes to you all. I used to follow him with my family clear back with the Keystones. Joe is a great guy and even though I don't know him personally, I grew up in the gospel music scene of the 70's and 80's and Joe has always had a real heart for others. I miss not seeing you on that stage but I bet retirement will be great!

I remember him with the Keystones, too - can't tell you exactly where or when, but I think the group's piano man was named Garland. My apology to the others whose names escape me.
