I would love to see them react to "Christmas Truce", I think the brother who talked about peace (such a wise and noble man!) would love it. I think it would show him that he's completely right! Men are not enemies, we are friends unless politics and greed and powerplays and some other crap divide us. I would also love to see what wise words he would say about that event. Also, I love that you are showing studio version videos, live videos are meant for people who have heard the studio song or people who were there, if it's your first heard of the song you won't appreciate it because of the poor mixing quality. Studio versions are the way to have them possibly enjoy the music.

@@TRYBALS If I may offer a remedy for that, Sabaton have actually released a lyric video for the song "Christmas Truce", in which there is only a static picture with lyrics showing up for the duration. I believe it may be the most appropriate version for them to truly enjoy the song, with its lyrics. What I would also recommend is the song "En Livstid i Krig", which while in Swedish, does have English Subtitles, if you use the live version from Gothenburg. The song sings about the 30 year war, from the perspective of a Swedish soldier during the war.

Yeah sabaton are easily missunderstood. In my opinion, they sing about the "greatness" of this ship, in terms of how horrible its reputation was and how distructive it could be. They sing about these things so perfectly through a mask of someone of that time but with our modern day consciousness but its also about how mankind has developed techonologies over the centuries. They're defenitly not for wars at all. They sing about times of war as a sad callback to sad times with a few heroes in it here and there.

Sabaton IS encouraging people to recognize others’ humanity. Bismarck was a German ship, and many people are unwilling to admit that there were humans in the German military forces too. By making a song about the enemy, Sabaton is encouraging many people to think more carefully about the humanity on the other side of the war. (Not that Nazi Germany should have been allowed to keep spreading and shouldn’t have been defeated, but there were still people there.)

@Complex CR I think Final Battle, Lost Battalion, Resist and Bite, and Final Solution would cross cultures alright. The idea of 2 forces, recently enemies, fighting side by side to protect POWs from war criminals is simple enough; the idea of a thousand men being surrounded by a hundred thousand, lost to their allies and trying to breakout would come across fine; 40 men holding off Rommel's panzer corps might be a bit of an explanation but could still be summarized as '40 men hold off an army until they run out of bullets, the enemies don't believe them when they say there's nobody else'; and the final solution is pretty explicit in how grim the holocaust is, they already heard of the warcrimes so its more of a refresher than an explanation.

  • @roblangada4516

@Complexus I think the idea of dying to protect what you believe in is something most Muslims, most people in general really, could appreciate. It's the ultimate display of conviction in your beliefs. Plus, Islam has historically always had something of a sort of grudging respect for Christianity. In past Muslim empires, Christian subjects were often persecuted less than other non-Muslim demographics as they were considered fellow men of the cloth and a step above pagans. In a lot of cases not even having to convert and just paying jizya instead.

@@jacksmith-vs4ct There's good reason - if you see an unknown gas being used on your troops, and it wasn't banned by international agreement, it would very quickly escalate to responding with VX or Sarin. Gas is too dangerous for open warfare because you don't know until it's affecting your soldiers if it's relatively harmless or a horrific atrocity. A big gun is just a big gun. A cloud of gas could be anything from nerve gas to a massive thermobaric detonation priming.

A band from New Zealand called Alien Weaponry, three young men of Maori descent (the Maori being the indigenous people of New Zealand). Their songs are partially or completely written in their native language, and many speak to the history of their people, the atrocities committed against them by settlers, and their old ways, and their battles. Their biggest hit, Kai Tangata, speaks of the ritualistic cannibalism in war, and the video shows the introduction of muskets to their warfare and the changes they brought.

It may interest some to know, that the compass with the coordinates etched into it, the man Joachim asks "So, did you find the boat?" is supposedly the son of the sailor who survived with the compass. And all the memorabilia in the background of that scene was his father's as well. Supposedly anyway, I've not researched it enough to be 100% sure it's true.

Boy oh boy, this channel is getting weirder and weirder... and I LOVE IT! So we're going to see a video about everybody reacting to a military submarine documentary? That's the impression I get from the ending. Maybe after that, everybody reacts to the International Space Station - an example of many nations working together to achieve something magnificent. No matter what you do, you have a wide variety of content, and that makes it a very enjoyable channel. Peace to all.

Awesome video, nice to heard that they liked heavy metal music. Yes,Nightwish would be good reaction video! In Finland, every year before Christmas, we have event (consert) and called Raskasta Joulua ( Heavy Christmas) where many Heavy Metal singers sings Christmas music in Metal way and most them are Finnish songs but these songs are best music in Christmas time, and now it is tradition and it’s has long last more than 10 year! My favourite song is Raskasta Joulua ( Tulkoon Joulu) the song name translated in English (Let there be Christmas) and it’s 8 year old song but its most noun in Finland 🇫🇮

A whole movie is probably too long to watch, but I would recommend certain scenes from the german war classic "Das Boot". The struggle and pain that crew has to go through, and not because they support the regime, but because the marine is taking it's job seriously. I can imagine your friends here could like the scene when the crew is invited to dinner by higher officers a lot, as it shows the prejudices of the higher officers and their misconceptions of how real life and hardship on the hardest of military jobs is. The crew and their captain are like workers, the high officers act like nobility, detached from the world and maybe even the gruesomeness of war. The latter would probably be a better scene to watch after seeing the hardship and hard work and danger of living on such a submarine.

Steven Spielberg had a television show called "Amazing Stories" on American television. One episode is called "The Mission" about a WWII B-17 bomber with its landing gear destroyed in combat. The gunner is going to die, because the damage to the plane has also trapped him in the ball turret. The story is classic Spielberg. In real life, the ball turret gunner was usually "washed out of the turret with a hose." (Randall Jarrell, 1945)

As a sailor and a huge fan of history, I want to expand on some of the info here. The Battleship Bismarck was such a beast that to this day, he is the only ship to properly be categorized as a Male. Ships are universally female when being mentioned, but Bismarck became King of the Ocean when he was launched in 1939. The last battle he was in, was between Bismarck against 13 other ships; 1 aircraft carrier, 2 battleships, 2 heavy cruisers, 1 light cruiser and 7 destroyers. And the ones who sunk the ship in the end, was the crew of the Bismarck.

Imo it was the combined effect of shellfire torpedoes and scuttling only sped up the process of the sinking, but I am by no means a professional and sources don't seem to agree. It seems like it would be hard to tell which sink the ship considering the battering British guns gave it
