Trial Graphics - Arctic Rose Sinking

Trial Graphics www.tmba.tv/tri... TMBA is a New York City animation studio that produces high quality trial graphics for litigation. This animation illustrates investigators findings surrounding the sinking of the Arctic Rose.
The Bering Strait in Alaska is one of the most dangerous paths in the world. So when the Arctic Rose sank on April 1st, 2001, it seemed that the Strait had simply claimed another victim. But this time, there was one key difference: no one knew why the Arctic Rose had gone down. Somewhere, the Arctic Rose lies beneath these icy waters, the victim of the worst U.S. fishing accident in a half century.
The question is, why?
What caused the Seattle-based Arctic Rose fishing vessel to sink with the loss of all 15 hands in the Bering Sea is the subject of this investigation.
TMBA created these 3D animations based on the findings of the Coast Guard investigation.

I was a member of the last crew to get off the Arctic Rose Alive. I stop to talk to a couple of those guys as I was getting off the boat and they were loading on their own gear. Being an Aircraft mechanic In Alaska at the time and being between contracts I went on the Rose with my brother in law to make a good check..... The time on that boat was some off the most scary times I've ever lived. Being a veteran, I have known death so take it for what its worth... I knew why that boat when down as soon as I heard the news......I knew... Nobody ever contacted me about it... a real investigation....NOT

I was factory foreman on this vessel. Before we took it to Alaska, I watched as we dumped 15 barrels of metal shavings in the shaft alley without any marine engineer in sight. Also the back door-we left it open for the entire 1.5 years I was aboard the vessel unless it got super nasty. I believe in my heart of hearts the green-horn crew went to bed and left the factory water on while turning off the sump pumps, thus flooding the engine room without giving people time to dawn their survival suits. I lost a great friend in the accident, Captain Dave Rundal, who was my First Mate, then captain aboard the F/T Arica years prior to him making his last fishing gig. Sadly, his body was the only one recovered and he was only halfway zipped up. If anyone could dawn a survival suit fast, it was Dave. I stand by my theory not the USCG.

Completely agree. I worked on the Arctic Rose with Dave as my captain the season before it sank and that door was always tied opened

@@BeringSeaMetaLMan Davy was my brother, I second that that door was never shut the entire season, and the trip I took it south with Davy.
