In almost all zombie literature the ems, fire, pd are the first ones to say screw the people. I feel like this was a more accurate portrayal of our everyday heroes.

Pretty sure ems, fd and pd are usually the second wave of zombies, usually homeless and initial infected are the first wave. I work EMS and zombie outbreaks are a big conversation topic lol

Honestly i think the police and fire department can definitely hold out against zombies police in riot gear and fire fighter's with fire axes

Yeah the voices and emotions routinely don't fit the characters. Girl voices for men and vice versa. It's like it's done by AI that hasn't got the kinks worked out.

Yep. I was 18 years in the Fire Service and I get not everyone was but there are mistakes that could have been avoided with a bit of research. Its common in Zonbie lit. One guy, never in the military, had a captain get promoted to a seargent major. Others who know nothing of women or guns also make ridiculous statements. If the rest is good it might pass....might.

Anyone else notice the reader’s random noises?

Genuine question: Is this read by a real person or is it some kind of narration program? I ask because there are quick little parts where the narrator says woman parts like a man and vice-versa. It's not often but it just got me curious. Liking the story. I'm almost to the end of this one.

Remarkable vocal dynamics for an A.I. it's not perfect, but still it's both impressive and disconcerting. There must have been a lot of work just to get the A.I. to change the pitch the the voice to impersonate women and children.

I just cant handle the "she said, he said " after nearly every sentence when characters talk together .. if its well read you should be able to understand who's talking ... stuck out the story and tbh it hurt .. narration was gd I some parts bad in others and just plain annoying in some ... 😔

The story is nice but I feel like using cheaper AI and just switching between two different ones for male/female would work better. Much less uncanny valley. I keep thinking, “God this guys a terrible narrator” only to remember it’s a confused computer.

Good story but the narration is weird, long as pauses and hard emphasis on words that don't need to be. Can't listen to anymore of it unfortunately, OVER.....and out. Thanks for the free upload though

Its okay at its core but the failure of the narrator to apply the correct character voices to the correct lines is REALLY distracting. Firefighters change voice not only from one to the other but to the drugged up mother and vice versa. Is this an AI narration? Edit: 46 minutes in and yeah i just cant get past these whacky voices.

I suspect that this is a A.I. reader. They are becoming increasingly common. I agree that the lack of emotional ruined the story.

This is a girl boss audiobook. Very unrealistic with modern political elements. Ex firefighter is scared and drops a gun after finding it in a glovebox. Cat lady makes firefighter shut down. I cannot express my anger after listening to this shit.

A human narrator would be better

Should do volume 2, except. Have a human narrate. Great story, terrible narration

Can't recommend. Narrator must be AI, Multiple unrealistic potholes in the first 20 minutes. The dialog is is cheesy. And characters suddenly have wardrobe changes from second to second. Good attempt, but a misfire.

Who the hell just censors the cussing if you are uncomfortable with cussing then you should go find something else thats man child friendly
