Thanks, I'm building a deck for someone concerned about falling, maybe with balance issues, and your conclusion is EXACTLY the info I was looking to find!

In regards to the Trex warranty with different tiers based on installer status. Does it matter who does the initial install? Or is the length determined by who would do the replacement work if needed for the warranty claim? Trying to determine if I need a “higher tier” installer initially. Thank you!

do you have any strong feelings about deckorators vista? i found a good deal locally , but can't find a lot of reviews.

Does one stay cooler in the sun than the other? I know composite gets hot in full sun.

Trying to decide if I should build my deck in composite. Trex is too expensive here in the UK and not widely available. It’s a real mind filed trying to pick something on a budget.

UK has a lot of composite brands that I am not familar with. Good luck in finding a quality board that fits your budget.

Hate to be that guy, but the only reason I could follow this video is because I've been binging on Trex, Timbertech, and wife just asked about Dekorators. Appreciate the free vid, however would be better if you would maybe show a couple samples of each together so we can compare/contrast and not keep jumping around.

The outrageously high prices of deck materials could make one think they are made of gold - even the stressed stuff is costly.. that said, choosing/ purchasing- a product sensibly is even more important. What do you want in a deck? What is most important- to you or me? everyone is different. I, on one hand, don't like slipping and falling. How do you compare one product to the others- fairly and to natural materials? With a small project quickly getting into the heavy G's, how does this stuff end up looking after ten seasons of sun, sand, tree sap, bug juice and did I say sun? Stress tests- let’s see them. Just started looking. good info.

Help! Tearing off my old wood deck boards. 2x10 Joists are 24 on center. Planned on dropping new floor joists in between the old joists. When I did I put a 3 ft level across the joists and it rocks/ some joists are higher than others. What can I do? Wanting to do composite and I don’t want to have waves in it from un level joists

You will need to plane off the high portions of the joists. If you don't have a planer you can use a belt sander.

you’ll definitely need to add some joist between those 24 centers and you’d have 12” on center appx. That is what you want.

Look at Fortress Building Products. Steel joists, posts. The same 2" x 6" is used for the risers. There's a bracket they use for the treads, and a 4' tray lays on the bracket. Looks like you only need 2 risers instead of 6 if you're using synthetic boards and/or you're going to picture frame it. I'm in the same boat, having to tear down a deck, etc. I'm getting too old to stand on ladders and stain everything.

I bet this guy doesn't have a Deckorators deck. I do, $66K worth. Getting dirt out of the grooves of these boards is very difficult, a hands and knees job.

Wow. That's a lot. What's the square footage of your deck. I'm getting pricing now for all the components. I'm thinking about the Fortress steel floor joists, posts and stringers. Too old to stand a ladder 11 feet off the ground to stain.

@@slobodantrendic22 whatever the most expensive is, that is what I have. Another issue is, the ridges reflect light. So in bright sunlight, it looks washed out when looking at the boards from a perpendicular direction. The deck looks best on cloudy days. Also, and this is true of all synthetic decks, clean grill grease quickly. I will need to replace a few boards.

Their warranty service is crap for small jobs. I filed a claim on a small job, they want me to find a repairman, for $25! Really? I can't get a kid to cut my small lawn for $25!

You flash the material too fast in front of the camera. If this video is about comparison of two brands, you need to show more material and do less talking.
