The first ever scp(173-the statue) was posted on 4chan in 2007, which later inspired other people to create their own scp's. In 2008 the wiki was created, that's where you find most scp's today. Trevor Henderson would only get famous after posting his first image of Siren Head in 2018, and even then it wouldn't become mainstream untill 2020 when Modus interactive made a fangame featuring Siren Head TL;DR: scp came first
