He's a scouser. If he has the ability he will retire with liverpool.
As stated in the interview, Trent was always a midfielder. They then trained him up as a RB as a path into the 1st team squad, but he was effectively a RB with a midfielder's skill set, hence why he got so many assists. Now he drifts into central areas more often, he is a RB who becomes a playmaker. Pep G has Stones steping in as a playmaker but Trent's history as a midfielder through the academy makes him a far more potent weapon and he's even scoring goals in open play.
Love Trent to bits. Will go down as one of the greatest of the Klopp (or any) era.

Interesting question about the national team midfield role. The idea of a midfield three of rice, trent and bellingham is pretty nice. Single 6 with jude and trent just ahead or double pivot of trent and rice with jude and maybe maddison as well is an insanely strong midfield. If its 4 3 3 with saka or foden rw and grealish lw and kane up top.. this english generation needs to win a trophy.

Yes, it's all about how special he is but not as a right back... The position he plays the most... I agree he's got fantastic ability but as a defender he's not good enough for top top level football, i'll never forget him not realizing Vini Jr behind his back... 1-0 Real Madrid wins the 14 Champions League... For how great he is as a player, liverpool will always face problems with him at the back...

@@moxla9562 i think trent is a top top level player but not as a right back. He was a major factor in liverpool 7 trophies no doubt, i was a fan of liverpool during those golden years and love what he did. But when the team feel apart it became obvious that he could not do enough as a defender. And a top team needs every player to be the best at their spot on the field. It's like jordan henderson, for a short amount of time he was world class mid but that couldn't be sustained because he was good player but not great. Trent is a good right back not great but he is a great creative mid so Liverpool should get a Robertson type to right back and give freedom to Trent in the middle. I mean why can't Liverpool be stable in that sense, true solid at the back and him shinning in the mid?

He hit world class level in 19/20 and has dipped ever since our fanbase has gassed him up to a pedastel and now that he shows vulnerabilities in his game and rivals started to call him out people are getting defensive , generational talents show consistency over a period of time which he hasn't, for now he is a decent player with good attributes and clear deficiencies in his game can't be called world class either
