Treni in Transito: Modular Model Railway from Italy (Gruppo Fermodellistico Tartaruga)

Building model railway layouts and scale modelling are an international hobby. So even in Rome, Italy, there is a model train club, called “Gruppo Fermodellistico Tartaruga”, whose members are constructing a large modular model railway in HO scale. The Italian model railroaders build their modular layout according to the FIMF standard (“Federazione Italiana Modellismo Ferroviario”); this standard is comparable to the FREMO standard in Europe or to the North American Free-mo standard.
On the model railroad modules, there are two main lines and one branch line. The landscape, the buildings and the whole infrastructure have been constructed according to the Italian style of railway modelling. The main line consists of a double-tracked railway line with traffic on the left side as it is usual in Italy. On some modules there is a catenary. However, the catenary is optional and not functional. Steam locomotives, diesel locomotives and modern high-speed trains run on the tracks. For the power supply the “Gruppo Fermodellistico Tartaruga” uses the two-rail direct current system.

The people on the platform seem to be very calm waiting for a train to stop for them. I would not be happy seeing all those trains go by with out stopping. Great video work with excellent natural sound.

Questo è un plastico che mi è piaciuto tantissimo, treni attuali, alcuni di època antica, bella estensione, la velocità dei treni. PERFETTO. Io tengo pensato di fare la stazione di Salerno in scala H0, spero di potercela fare, i sogni si fanno realtà dicono :)

Ciao sapreste consigliarmi qualche start set scala ho di qualche treno italiano ?
Tutto è talmente ben fatto, che ho notato solo dopo, e guardando il sito del gruppo fermodellistico, l'assenza dei cavi della linea aerea! Immagino sia voluto, e magari dovuto alla modularita del diorama. Suggerimento allora: perché non bloccare i pantografi dei locomotori in trazione aperti? Basterebbe una qualche semplice trovata, ed il risultato sarebbe eccezionale!

Analisi corretta! il plastico è modulare e spesso è necessario smontarlo e trasportare per partecipare ad eventi modellistici. La catenaria volutamente non è stata montata. La tecnica di bloccare il pantografo aperto è spesso usata (in altri nostri video si vede). Concordo che l'effetto è notevole. Comunque grazie per l'apprezzamento. Gftartaruga

È un diorama molto ben curato e realistico! Molto molto belli gli edifici! Il materiale che vi gira sopra è stupendo! Complimenti! Uno dei più bei video finora visto. Se posso dare un consiglio ai curatori del diorama: un po' più di sporco in giro, e sui treni, sarebbero la ciliegina sulla torta! Ps: siete sicuri che tutto il materiale rotabile in circolazione sia coerente con l'epoca ferroviaria da voi scelta? Scusatemi se sto a fare tali commenti, ma la bellezza del vostro lavoro è tanta, che potrebbe con qualche miglioria rasentare la perfezione!

The Italien club made the video recordings. We uploaded/downloaded the video data over the Internet. Finally, the video was cut in Germany (Pilentum Television). So this is an Italian-German video cooperation.
