    Fixed Bridge for me. I had a Floyd Rose floating bridge, and I was so tired of retuning all my strings anytime I needed to change strings or change tuning. I often brought out my Acoustic when I needed to go Drop D tuning, or Half Step down tuning. In the end I just got myself a 2nd guitar, which was fixed bridge. Simple setup and configuration is good. Makes it easier and more appealing to just pick an instrument and play.

    Hi, thanks for watching and commenting! I'm using Neural DSP's Archetype: Plini amp suite and plugin for all of the amp tones, delay and reverb's. The delay and reverb output in stereo and sound really nice, so that's what you're hearing. If you've never checked out Neural, I'd high recommend checking them out, it's free to try (you will need an iLok though) and they're not that expensive to buy in general. About the price of one good analog pedal. Best of luck!

    The tone in the fixed bridge one is much richer the floating one. Do you think this is because of the difference of bridges or difference in pickups?

  • @aminorerror

    @aminorerror

    4 жыл бұрын

    The pickups on the classic (six string one) let it down a bit. The middle and bridge pickups esp I think could use an upgrade. Prob pay attention to the neck pickup the most, that'll give you the best idea of best pickups vs each other. Thanks for watching and commenting, those Fishman's in the metal really are fantastic!

    Hey bud thanks for watching! I've never tried a whammy dive that large on a regular strat setup, but honestly just put your bar on and give it a try! It might not get that low but that's ok. Like I was saying in your lesson, that bridge isn't setup for dives that large so it'll almost def go very out of tune afterward but that's ok. Just be aware that you might not want to go that crazy if you're performing. See ya on Tuesday!

    What’s the range of the strandberg trems? How far can you divebomb? Can you also pull up on them?

  • @aminorerror

    @aminorerror

    3 жыл бұрын

    It depends on how they're setup. Strandy bridges have two different heights they can be setup on, and on the higher one it'll obviously pull higher and dive bomb lower. Mine is setup right now on the lower one so it's a little bit limited. On the dive the bass strings are floppy low but now the high ones and on pull up I can get a whole step. Hope that helps.

    Are you able to install Tromol-No and upgrade the system overall? On stranberg guitars with Trem

  • @aminorerror

    Unfortunately I don't have any experience with a tremolo-no system, but it might work with the strandberg. The components are all well made to start, and I haven't been able to find anything on the aftermarket. The bridge is made of aluminum and the block on the bridge has allen key bolts that lock the springs in place, so I wouldn't want to change out the block personally. Hope that helps!

    It's bizarre that PRS decided to put a trem system in the Tremonti model (which is supposedly designed for metal), which then limits drop / down tuning. What was PRS thinking.

  • @aminorerror

    @aminorerror

    3 жыл бұрын

    As the Tremonti model is a signature series guitar, Mark probably requested them to add the tremolo on his guitar. The tremolo doesn't limit the ability to drop or down tune the guitar either, it only requires more setup time. I put a tremolo equipped guitar in a drop tuning at times too, it just means you have to rebalance the tremolo.

    What is the difference between the floating bridge on the strandberg vs the one on music man guitars?

  • @aminorerror

    @aminorerror

    3 жыл бұрын

    Both systems are slightly similar in that they aren't true double locking floyd rose designs (like an Ibanez or any floyd equipped instrument). Both systems are reliable, will flutter and are capable of any whammy bar tricks. The Strandberg system is 'bouncier' than all the rest, not that its better but the feel is different. It's lighter feeling, kind of like comparing a Ferrari to a Dodge Challenger (if that makes sense). Hope that helps, this is a great question, I've got a Jackson and Music Man on the way to review soon, I think I'll make a dedicated video just to this topic! Hey dude me again so i got one with a trem and i was wondering if 2 tremolo springs affect tuning stability opposed to 3. I do alot of flutters btw

  • @aminorerror

    @aminorerror

    2 жыл бұрын

    The amount of springs shouldn't make a difference on tuning stability but IMO 3 springs will probably not flutter as well and will probably feel a whole lot stiffer. As always my tip to get the most flutter out of an 'berg is to put the bar arm back over the bridge the opposite way that you'd normally think to flutter. The mass balances better that way for better flutter since the bridge is so much lighter in general than something like a tradition floyd or Ibby tremolo has. Rock on!

    What kind of floating bridge did you have? There's specific things to try and avoid that should of helped the tuning stability although some models aren't as stable and if you had a cheaper budget guitar, those can be the worst. Fixed bridge is obviously simpler and that's a huge plus on cheaper guitars too. Thanks for watching!

  • @aminorerror

    If you were going back and forth between the fine and main tuners then something was def wrong, my guess was it was after a string change? You've gotta really stretch those strings out to avoid that each time you change the strings. Also, you really can't change the tuning of a tremolo equipped guitar without needing a lot of tinkering, I set each one in a specific tuning and it just stays that way. Hope those couple tips help if you ever get another guitar with a tremolo again! Thanks for the sub and the support, it means a lot! Thanks for the video. I was a fixed bridge purist guy for ages. Then, I started playing an arch top with a Bigsby, that changed my whole playing style. I’ve been trying to warm up to my fixed solid body again. It’s a struggle going back. It’s like learning to drive on a stick-shift then getting into an automatic. My hand reaches for a gear selector that isn’t there. It’s the same unnerving experience reaching for the trem-arm. I ended up buying a cheap jazzmaster knock off. The benefit with that type of trem is that if it’s set up properly and you do break a string, the guitar will not go out of tune. Nearly no one knows how to set them up properly so most people have never played one that works correctly.
