Got my ALR 5 a month ago and I love everything about it. Its lightweight, tires are wide, you can put a ton of stuff, and most importantly its so confortable unlike other gravel bikes. I got mine in Era white color. I use it for everything!

Had my checkpoint ALR 5 for 3 years now , I have about 6K miles on it and absolutely love it , it's a great bike that I personally would not change. I converted it to tubless the first year and never looked back .

I've had my Checkpoint ALR for about a year now and, it's absolutely fantastic! I can't wait to get out there and do some more bikepacking with it.

This is how you present a product. Its always better to differentiate between products so you know exactly what you need to get and why.

Picked one up two weeks ago and first time out had a blow out within 2 miles--welcome to gravel! Still, I just love this bike so much, and can't wait to do tons of exploring on it. Love the navy color too with the tan sidewalls.

I love that all the riding footage was filmed near my hometown of Boulder, CO! I know where every one of the roads shown in this video is, it's truly a gravel paradise here

Torn between this and a domane. I do road riding with wife (she has a domane) but when I'm by myself, give me the gravel! I can only afford one bike at the moment and looking for something for my gravel riding but don't wanna be dropped on the road.

I just got a check point and it’s great on road as well. I’m still a beginner but I had no issues keeping up with experienced road cyclists on the rides I’ve gone on so far. A buddy of mine has a check point and a set of extra wheels for road cycling. One bike, two sets of wheels for which ever rides he wants to do.

Bike would be very nice if Trek would stop installing Praxis cranks on the bike. It should have GRX what the hell Trek? Trek should give the buyers an option to change the crank back to the GRX . The gearing isn't the same and in the future the value could be hurt by this. I know the praxis crank takes a special BB not sure if Shimano GRX can use the same BB . So if you ever want to go back you'll need BB

I see that no one has replied to your question, so I’ll try and help. The Emonda is more road focussed, this being expressed in the different geometry and tyre clearance from the Checkpoint. The Checkpoint has slacker head tube (the wheel is more out-front to assist with control and stability on the loose and rough stuff) complimented with a lower BB, again providing more stability on the rough stuff than you would have on the Emonda. Larger tyres add to the comfort. It will all depend on your intended style of riding; your Excalibur already offers you superior off-road capability, so your choice between the very road orientated Emonda or the more flexible riding offered by Checkpoint should come down to that.

@@SJ-tk4ri thanks for clearing my doubt . I was more inclined towards emonda as i already have a MTB and I can't attain a maximum speed on that when on road and I can use emonda for longer hours riding or geometry is painfull or its for certain stretch only

@@razerrazer8242 A bit late to the party, but would you consider a Domane? It’s an endurance road bike with generous clearance up to 38mm I believe, so similar to the Giant Contend AR. You still get a road groupset and less compromises that you’d make for a dedicated gravel bike, but enough ruggedness to tackle the harsher stuff.

Why does it have 44 cm handlebar and 175 mm cranks at size 58? A more modern (last 5 years) build would be 40 cm and 172,5 mm. Edit. Why does it have an aluminum seatpost, on a bike for 3k?
