It was up to the customer to provide those critters with an eviction notice! That’s how most states do it anyway;0

Nice work but the lack of protective equipment is a bit disturbing. Pants, helmets and boots for every crew memeber should be mandatory no?

it is but at the same time maybe he was the lowest quote. Only people with money call one company. They couldn’t care less how much it cost they just want it done. Also I believe he said he did work for her before

Great to watch real experience at work - Could you explain why sometimes you do the diagonal cut on the wedge cut first and sometimes the horizontal? I only drop small trees on my farm occasionally so I always forget which to do first - is there a 'right' way to do it ? I'd welcome your expertise on that please - thanks -

Thanks, there is no right or wrong with which one to do first. I feel like I get a more accurate aim when I do bottom cut first some I can look straight down my sights. It is accurate both ways so what ever one you feel more comfortable with. Even cutting trees on your farm it would be good for you to get practice trying it both ways to see which you like better. Stay safe👍

I cut the flat one first because it's easier to aim the sight. Then diagonal to match. It's more important that the back cut is above the notch. Leave room for wedges if you need to.

@@MTnumber11 thanks - when you say above the notch - do you mean above the horizontal cut of the notch or above the whole thing ? thanks again

@welshhomestead at the back of notch where it comes together to make a v. Make sure your back cut is slightly above the v inside the tree. Like 1-2 inches. Because your cuts won't aways be perfect it gives you room for error while still creating a good hinge.

My buddy and I just started our tree service. Spent $7k and got everything we need to climb and rig trees but our next purchase will be a bucket truck

Wait on a lift, or bucket truck until you have a dump truck and a loader, or a grapple truck. Then take the profits and put it into a decent crane before the bucket truck. That’ll be the most efficient way to build your business because a bucket truck is very useful, but not necessary and not always useful. I would consider it more as a luxury than a piece of equipment to build your business around. Good luck and stay safe!

@@ethanlancaster76 thank you for the insight! I have had 3 jobs so far and all has gone well. I think for the moment I’m just going to keep climbing everything and build the business bank account. I agree that there are better options over a bucket truck.
