nice video. Personally, I prefer putting my rope system around the whole stem rather than just over a branch above me, but perhaps I'm a bit paranoid. Your way uses less friction, and you still had the lanyard on.

Yea exactly, and those branches were really thick. I don't think you could even grab around them

I've always learned, when it's healthy, going upwards and it's thicker then your wrist, you can put your anchor on it

Oh iv heard ppl just using rope wrench even with the zip zag. It not proper so I'm not telling you to do it cause they make the chicane but iv heard it will work fine just need solid tether on it tho. I'm saying that cause you might allready have one from a older climbing system. An then you could run some srt if you wanted.

Hey noticed you started putting more slings on the zip line at a time after a few. I was wondering why you were doing one at a time . Only cause normally il set my 10 or so slings up Then send them all pretty quick. Then set up again for next grouping. That way when im setting up the ground guy can deal with the 10 or so branches basically I try to keep that cycle an keep everyone moving steady

hello, i don't mean to say that what you do is bad, but isn't it better that you put the cord of de zigzag around the trunk just above a branch? then only around a branch. grt

Need to get a chacane for that zigzag so you can use it properly when coming down that stem. You would be in a world of hurt if you had to bail out.You could use your present equipment plus another carabiner and learn the method of taklng a bite of rope and run it through your end carabiner forming a bite on the tree and take another carabiner and attach it to your zigzag and attach it to the loop of rope you passed through the end carabiner. If you want to see a video of it see Arbor Jason How to climb down a pole.He shows you 2 ways.Climb safe!

Good point. I will change to that, didn't stress the chance of having to bail out from the stem too much. Thanks

Find your local tree service (arborist) start working on the ground first get comfortable with the hard work that’s involved then do your chainsaw training (cs30/cs31) pass that then you can progress an learn the ropes 👍

@@treecareman9128 nice. I have seen mouth mounts in urban climbing, didnt realize this is it also. Do you have it all the time while in a tree?

No that's why the video is cut some places. But mouth mount just gives the best footage. I hate when the gopro is moving around on the helmet
