Nice rig work in this video.. Most people don't realize that anyone can cut a tree down, but the ability of having it fall exactly where you want it EVERY TIME without jeopardizing the ground crew and personal property is a skill that's learned through years of training and experience.

These are Eucalyptus regnans (Mountain Ash), the tallest flowering trees in the world. They are in decline in the Dandenong Ranges in Victoria, Australia, where I can safely assume most of these videos were filmed. They rely heavily on Fire for regeneration. People have begun living in these areas preventing natural bush fires occurring, therefore preventing natural regeneration. These guys are "Arborists". Arborists are all about Tree preservation. Our livelihood depends on keeping trees. We don't remove them for fun, although it is certainly an adrenalin rush. I have been an Arborist for twenty years. Stopped climbing about three years ago. These videos certainly make me realise the skill involved, and how lucky I have been to have been taught by true professionals, and how much I miss a "Good Climb". It's also nice to know that technology will never replace this skill.

You've taken it to the next level and having a bit of experience making tree videos, I'd say you're at the head of the pack.. I admire your work and can imagine how much time and energy goes into making something like that happen... You've got a gift.. Thanks for sharing it..

These guys are good..and SAFE....at 1:06 he cuts the top portion and lets it fall..no need for lowering lines or to do an ''egg drop''. He's got plenty of room to drop it safely. We call it ''bombing'' up here in north jersey. I love these videos. Most of the tree men ive met in my life are down to earth, fun loving generous people...but when the first saw fire's up...they're all business. Talk about an Honest Days Work...here it is!!

i thought it was a very well made video and the music was great. i know that our forest need to bewell maintained to be able to survive and it also goes with my philosophy that only 'dead, down, and diseased' trees should be cut for firewood or campfire wood. we need live trees as much as possible. your video was amazing and shows the dangers of your work. here's hoping that all of your crew stay safe and enjoy your work. thanks
