RIP Made in Japan Trail Masters:( GSM Cold Steel recently shut down their manufacturing in the Seki Japan factory where your Trail Master was made and moved it all to Taiwan. Your blade is now a serious collector's item.

Great review! I’ve had the Carbon V version for 20 years and have loved it. I am looking at picking up another one in San Mai.

3v sux compared to San mai fit and finish. Trust me I've owned them both. Japanese made san mai is way better and sharper.

Ive been quite impressed with the San Mai III trailmaster. Its outperformed the 3V trailmasters I have AND the Fallkniven Modern Bowie. I need to make a review myself comparing all of these knives to add to the data pot.

@@TheVintagedudee yes, I have three. Two of carbon v ( one with stag handle circa 1990ish) , and the other VG1 San mai. Love these knives! I’ve always wanted to try and put my San mai through the ringer, but it’s just too pretty!
