I'm not sure why this surgery is even necessary. I had dystonia so severely my chest was caving in and I was losing heart and lung function. Doctors diagnosed me with drug withdrawal and anxiety, wouldn't help me at all. I was so scared I was going to die that it led me to a total cure! Dystonia is a disease of the mind, that means the mind can stop it too. Using meditative practices I'm enjoying a recovery that greatly exceeds what DBS has to offer. I've seen where DBS gives people back some quality of life and they begin to do be able to do some normal things again. But my healing has made me better than before! Just deadlifted 315 lbs yesterday! I'm not saying ignore your doctors but keep in mind they don't know everything. What I know is that even if you can't afford this surgery or only have access to morons like me, you can still enjoy an even greater recovery!

UPDATE: it’s 4 months later. I’m changing my stance, ignore your doctor, this surgery isn’t necessary! I’m not alone either I’m beginning to find others who have healed through neuroplasticity as well. I have my whole life back and so much more than I even lost in the first place. Never, ever give up!
