Great video. I have a 2023 XLE Hybrid, and even being brand new the tips were difficult to remove. If you pry slightly where the original tip contacts the exhaust pipe it helps. You can also pry lightly from the back side where the sprung tab contacts the top of the exhaust pipe. When installing the new ones I managed to press them on until they were about 1/2” from the stopper, then they wouldn’t budge. I used my knee pushing inwards from behind the vehicle while holding the exhaust pipe coming from the muffler with my hands and that did the trick.

Found out today that the dealership I ordered from only ordered me 1 tip...because they forgot that 5th generation rav4 has dual exhaust. So now I wait till Monday for the 2nd. Thanks for the video

I got these too, and just installed them. They look good, especially on my 2022 dark grey rav4 se hybrid with the black overlays. Just a couple of pointers with my experience…my original tips did not budge at all. Unless you do this install on a brand new car, they will probably seem like they are welded on 😂. I used a screwdriver to get the 12 old clock tab up a bit first. I then put wd40 on the four contact points. You can refer to the new tips to see where those points are. Then after a few minutes start wiggling the tip off. Should start sliding out a little at a time with some moderate amount of pulling force, key is to wiggle it. But it came of in 10 seconds. The WD40 made the difference. Before that I wasn’t moving it at all, not even slightly. Sliding in the new tips were just as hard. I could only get it 1/3 to 50% in with just Vaseline( I know, this just sounds so wrong)😅. But again I then sprayed wd40 on the bare exhaust tip on the car, then wiggled the new tips on. Much much easier than wo the wd40. And to be doubly sure they are in all the way, as a previous commenter mentioned, hit it with a rubber mallet gently over a towel and that gets it nice and flush. Did the same process for the other side. Hope this helps. Btw, Into my first 5-10 mins of the install, I was thinking I might need to go to the dealer to install these bc no way was I getting them off. And after I got them off I couldn’t get the new ones on. But the WD40 and the mallet made this completely doable as a diy and it should only take about 10-15 mins for the entire install.

What diameter is your exhaust pipe ? Im looking for a Toyota with a 2,5 inch exhaust pipe so I can order an OEM pipe tip as yours, it looks really nice

Is their difference between 2021 RAV4 Prime XSE and SE? Some dealer said that this part is not compatible with this 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime XSE .

Did you have any issues putting the new ones on? I can’t for the life of me slide them on any further and I think there’s about an inch more that needs to go. They seem solid where they’re at, but they’re not fully on. Also, appears like the left tip is a quarter in lower than the right now and I know I didn’t bend the muffler. Thoughts?

I did not like I mentioned in the video my vehicle was pretty new when I swapped them out. You can try some grease or anti seize compound and hitting it with a rubber hammer or deadblow hammer. I just measured mine and the left tip is 0.5cm higher than the right. Totally didn't notice until I measured.

It comes with one so you need to order 2. Not 100% sure but it should fit rav4 hybrid.

Really curious if high temp black paint would work?

You can’t paint chrome it will peel over time.

Anyone paint their exhaust pipe black (hight temp paint) so it blends in with black exhaust tips?

You could do that. Use exhaust paint for mufflers. You'll want to rough it up first and use a primer

I cannot wiggle mine off at all not even a bit

You could but then you can't say you have TRD parts on your Toyota and it wouldn't be black chrome.

I see no reason for dual exhaust pipes. The one on the right kills pedestrians.

I agree but that's how they designed the Rav4. It's more for looks I guess. Could probably save some weight getting rid of the large muffler.

Heh let's hope people don't around stealing our exhaust tips. Could always tack weld it on I guess.
