Traxxas XMAXX,FLEX SEALING THE BODY!! Will it work or hold up?

Ойын-сауық

Decided to try a little experiment and see how well just using flex seal works on the body,I was hoping to put a couple more coats on it but two was all I could do but we will see how it works or doesn’t work?

I flex sealed my Granite BLX with 2 separate coats and it didn’t help at all first hit on the rear of the box and it still split on me. My next experiment 🧪 I will try on my next Granite I’m getting is drywall tape and flex seal, I fell the strength comes from the tape and the flex in the sealer/shoego. Combined I think 🧪they will bond and will work better in compassion to just a flex seal

I used Flex seal on one of bodys. and it was okay but pretty messy. I tried again on a different body. However I used the Rust-Oleum version of Flex Seal. which flowed and sprayed a lot more evenly than Flex Seal. all in all I give it two thumbs up. great vid

Nice brother 👍🏻 I actually have black flex seal on a couple of my crawlers, and even with the rolls and tumbles they take, they've held up nicely. Now, it may just be because they haven't landed just right, but I'm going to credit flex seal with keeping them together (until they break 😂) by the way man, Jesse B Motors sent me 😁 🤘🏻👍🏻

I used it on two of my cars about 6 months ago. Big Rock on the inside and my JBL Cheetah all all over. For the Big Rock I use painters tape for the outer shell that stuff gets everywhere. For the Cheetah on the outer shell it’s super ugly but for a car that flips in the street it works great. Just apply more when it wears down. It takes about two days to dry. So i just did this to my Senton body with a can that was double the size of yours and a couple tips i have is #1 put it on in coats like 5+ because its pretty thin and tends to pool easily and #2 get 2 cans so you have enough because 1 can may not be enough for bigger bodies.

Subbed, curious to see how this goes, Shoo Goo and Dry Wall tape are nice but they are messy and add a lot weight to the body. Personally I would have layered it on much thicker but you only had 1 can, so we will at least get a benchmark. Maybe doing this and dry wall tape will work even better, definitely would be easier than shoo goo being it just sprays on. I hate getting that stuff all over my hands, even with gloves.

I've done a couple bodies this way, but used the drywall tape too. Took a couple/few coats. It comes in white and black. Tried the gorilla tape, edges peeled up a little. The shoe goo/drywall tape works great, the flex seal/drywall tape just takes the extra coats to finish. I got 2 10th scale bodies painted with one can of flex seal. Thanks for the vid! Looks like it stuck pretty well that would've been my main concern, with my experience with flex sealing things I probably would've use two cans just to be safe. I know to get non lexan paints to stick to lexan you normally wash it with dish soap and then alternate hitting it with a heat gun and wiping it down with rubbing alcohol cause there's usually alot of mold release left in the plastic from the extruding and molding process of the plastic
