Only issue I see with the threaded insert is that if you tighten it, the you'll have excess friction in the joint. If you relieve the tension, the friction goes away, but the screw is likely to back-out while bashing. Try using Vibra-tite in the threaded insert. It will act like the nylon portion if a locknut.

Thread locked and it has never come loose. Works like a nylon nut.

Good upgrade. But why is there so much thread on the bolts? Seems like a quarter inch threaded section would more than suffice. Won’t the moving over the threaded part add more wear?

Think the wear will be minimal .

It looked like the threaded insert did not turn as you pulled it in by force? Have you just deformed the plastic?

No the threaded insert is designed to pull into the plastic if it turned you would not be able to tighten is - we have run the X-Maxx several times and it has worked prefectly

They are made by several companies (RPM / CEN / GPM etc) and can be found on most RC hobby sites as well as ebay, Amazon etc. 👍🏼

@@B-Man90 Too bad. It looked like a promising set up. I also countersunk mine but I don’t know how long it will hold up for. Thank you for the reply.

@@B-Man90 Good to know. I’m using Traxxas HD arms so that could be the difference. I was thinking of getting the GPM hinge pins. They are hardened steel and resemble the M2C ones but for a bit less money. I may do that at some point because in the last week I’ve lost about 3 hinge pins and broke 3 arms from bad landings. 🤦🏻‍♂️😕
