The main differences that I see is that now the Rustler is a truck platform as opposed to being a buggy platform that the old Rustler is. Of course, the 4x4 aspect factors into all that at the same time. Great review!!!!!

Fake News, A 2WD buggy? Square? You’re kidding, right? You must be new to RC, because all buggies had that triangle shaped chassis, which carried over to stadium trucks too. Look at the RC10 and subsequent RC10T. Look at old Tamiyas. Old Kyoshos. They’re all that shape, dude. The 2WD Rustler is that way too, as is the Bandit. Sure, now on buggies and truggies, you’re seeing more squared shape chassis. But originally, yes, triangle shape.

Does the new 4x4 Rustler share the exact same center chassis as the Slash 4x4 LCG ? It looks a little shorter because of how the motor , esc and servo are mounted. On the Slash 4x4 the motor, esc and reciever box fit in the lower tub.

Yeah, i also thought that, but it definately looks like a new design with the new battery tray, and the way that the rear and front a-arms mount to the body. It also has removable skid plates underneath. I think it looks like it will be easier to work on than a slash LCG.

What rear tires are those on the old Rustler?

Quick answer: The stampede chassis has a really high center of gravity and a very unbalanced weight ratio from back to front

Can you also run NIMH in this?

Depends on the voltage. I used the 7 cell hump pack, and it worked ok.

Looping is a zero of a 0-10 scale

Old/New... Um, it's 4wd vs 2wd. Nothing new between each reference Traxxas platforms. Good review otherwise.

Im still tryimg to understand why this is a stadium truck. Why doea this have 2.8s and tlr teckno associated have 2.2s this is just a entry level truck nothing more then a basher for beginners
