Great video and a good build - looking forward to copying it partially!

Take the body brackets off, shoe glue the underside of the bracket to thicken it up. Should strengthen them better well. They’re con-caved so the shoe glue sits in there and doesn’t add a lot of weight

Yeah, so cheap, but they just work!

The best version of one of the best bashers we've ever seen! Words won't do it justice. They seem to like thread lock on their wheel nuts - Very few weak points overall, one hell of a car. Not sure if it's better than the cheaper Kraton EXB, but a keeper for sure! Someone will make better body mounts for it soon...

I don't understand why you would add foam to something not designed for it. Surely if Arrma had wanted you to add foam it would have come with it

nicee man..thumbs up for trying new camera shots and very nice truck. its more for scale run like traxxas udr but not as good bashing as arrma Kraton 8s or traxxas xmax...👍

LOL. Too be fair that was a direct impact from about twelve feet right on the rear wing. The body mounts do give way under hard impct but very inexpensive. Keep a few on hand. I went with a debris bag on mine and works great. Remember to get a 30mm fan for the motor if you pick up the rtr version. Motor already has the heat sink and open power conector available. This truck is a blast even on 4s. Great vid.

It’s the mud guards that push up on the body too making it way more fragile as the mudguards are way stronger than the body mounts themselves

Nice one Phil. Shame about the body mounts. There must be a fix for that. Arrma can (almost) do no wrong at the mo :-)

Cheers Pete. They have a revised set coming soon... but not sure on a quick fix. I might try a bit of shoe goo on the underside of the new set

I put the Spektrum 150A ESC and 2050kv combo. 55mph all stock out the box. Love it, it’s a beast and fun to drive. Only thing I have broken is me. What would you think of maybe drywall tape a shoe goo around the body mounts?

@@kylerbuican7945 i got the first version of the kraton exb, and I had all of the diff issues. it was bad out of the box. and in fact, im STILL waiting on horizon to send me diffs for it. its been over three months. thats the kind of regret you get from the first exb

@@kylerbuican7945 in all honesty. the v5 lineup from arrma is solid out of the box. you dont have to buy a servo and radio straight away. the chassis is beefed up a little, and seems nice and solid. i got the typhon 6s and so far is butter smooth out of the box

Hi tomley, I remember that reached 60mph with your exb on grass. Did you change the set up in order to keep it from parachuting ? I love it already driven it once but wish i could keep the front down .

Mojave 1/5 or a Typhon 1/5 for ramps would be insanely fun 👌

Traxxas don't, they are soo much stronger than arrma and look more scale and preform more like the real thing. The udr looks like a proper vehicle. The arrma just looks like a longer senton with a new shell.

The Senton does have great reviews, especially with durability (in the newest release). GAWD yours looks like so much fun! I now wonder if Inner Wheelwells are available for the smaller 1/10th Aarma Senton? Just as necessary, especially living in the Desert. 😲 Carmine ✈🚂🚙

They do make Inner Wheelwells for the Senton.... Out Of Stock of course. 😖 But at least it's there. Right, Desert Sand gets in EVERYTHING!!

The body mounts seem to be a weak point on Mohave's, a few have also broken the body mounts as well. Mr Talbot also broke both front & rear body mounts on his Mohave EXB, he had also used the extra foam to cushion the mounts as well.

@@surfside75 actually, this was 8 months ago and didn't talk about the XMAXX but the Maxx. I finally bought the Maxx because wanted a stunts truck and I'm really happy with it. Next one will be something more stable such as the Mojave, a Talion, a Fireteam... Will see😅

The stock Mojave is a pretty tough old beast, so apart from the body mounts this seems like it will take a bit of abuse

I'd be a bit disappointed if the body mounts broke after such a relatively small bash? Still a great video of a wicked looking looking truck. Arrma Mojave or Traxxas UDR? Now there's a choice to make?! 😁👍🏻

Yes it was disappointing, they have some revised ones coming soon. UDR is a different beast.... but then if you are thinking UDR... I'd be inclined to go for a Losi SBR 2.0! I have one arriving pretty soon!

I heard they added LSD plates to the R/D now aswell, "but in the Manual it shows Open diff!!" 🤔 Goona go through mine as I check fluid levels & tune diffs, but not had chance & just curious, because I thought they had addressed the R/D after the issues with the Kraton EXB. TIA. 🙏

What batteries do you recommend for this beast? I am running similar electronics on my 1/8 scale buggy, and it's killing cheap batteries like you wouldn't believe... I don't want to pull the trigger on Gens Ace before I hear an honest opinion...

I use the 5500mah 50C GensAce, and have some of the newer 6500mah 60c to test out. I've had no issues with them :)

Surely if you didn't put the foam under the body mounts it would allow more flex so you wouldn't snap them.

I was so tempted by one of these for my next addition but as soon as I saw that rear body post break I thought how disappointed I'd be with a £600, £700, £800 investment if it was to break like that. Disappointing from Arrma, especially in an EXB version. Back to the drawing board for my ideas of what to get myself for Xmas.

@@surfside75 I've narrowed down the shortlist to a Traxxas TRX4 defender, an Arrma Mojave EXB or Kraton EXB, an Absima CR3.4 Sherpa and an Absima Stoke 4s. But as I said if I get a Mojave EXB then buy all the electronics and drive system then have the body mount breakages it will be disappointing.

On the montage showing the parts and chassis, it looks like some of the screws aren't completely tight. Horizon quality control is very poor. Great rc though 👍

@@TomleyRC no worries. I checked my Lasernut over out of the box and every screw was loose on the chassis except 2 that are rounded off, and 3 screws missing from body panels! You shouldn't have to check these things, but sadly you need to.

Holy crap can that mojave take a beating and is fast as hell. I had a traxxas udr (before I sold it) and wat a pos it was in my opinion. Broke the diffs and front A arms first day and then it was just non stop on breaking parts from there,lol. If I had more funds and if the wife wouldn't kill I'd def get 1 of these 😄
