    I watched another video with Sledge shocks..but he had the steel drive shafts, he had issues with binding because the shocks extended down to far and made the suspension extended to far hence caused binding. Good video but I think you need to show us how it runs. A lot of people put up videos of awesome upgrades for views, but don’t show the complications they incurred doing the upgrade.

    Yes I am running into the same issue I didn't realize that was happening until now, did you find any solution for that problem? I was thinking about getting a GPM splined driveshaft for the rear in hopes that will fix the problem.

    Makes sense. Changing the spring and dampening rate in the rear geometry, also pushes the front end down for grip and turn in response as well.

    I done this with my Maxx Great improvement. I didn't buy the complete shock i just bought the shock body and the shafts and VG racing springs used everything else of the original shock works very well

    I had custom springs made for my Maxx, and the silicone oil stopped the slap chassis at 6,000cst.

    Ok so its levelled, but the combo of thicker shock fluid and stiffer springs makes it not a bouncy and nervous ride? I agree with you that the rear not has to sag, but i also want my truck to absorb the bumbs and handle turns with a slight lean instead of a rollover

    Does the Maxx shock cap from the stock setup move over to the Sledge shock replacement? Any followup run video with the change? Is this still a highly recommended change? I read where some guys are saying a weightier oil and piston change was able to accomplish the same result. Any thoughts? Thank you.

    If you do this (I did, great tip), you will need to install 9mm limiters in the sledge shocks, stock is too much droop for the axles.

    Where would you get a 9mm limiter?

  • @ansbis

    @ansbis

    Жыл бұрын

    @@jasonblevins5466 you have to make one, I found a small nylon nut that now lives in my shocks haha. It goes underneath the piston and prevents a full return well 9mm less of a return. You can remove the plastic end of the shock shaft that attaches to the a arm instead of removing the piston nut. Full tear down required. 60wt oil is what I recommend for moderate bashing, 70 and above it will bounce on impact. Remember you have a lot more spring preload with the new shock and can tune that too…don’t have to rely all on oil viscosity like stock setup.

    There sure is a lot of snake oil in the RC car world. Why dont you just idk drive better, I havea Maxx v2 and a lot of uneven ground and it does amazing keeping a line vs my friends Kraton 4s at my place. But I didn't stick to the fake 60wt they claim are in the v2. Learn how shocks work you should never have to replace for new ones if you understand how they work just modify the stock ones unless you bend the shaft.

    And that is what happens when you buy a Crapxxas: You need to upgrade it (and it is mandatory) in order to make it work like any other model of almost any other brand in stock form. At Crapxxas, everything turns around upgrades and spares, that is their real business model. Postscript: That junk heap still has the geometry of a brick.

    Hmm. Seeing all the differing opinions just further confuses a lot of us, namely me. I watched another video where the guy addresses the same issue but his method was leaving the stock shocks on but leaving the bottom end of the rear shocks in the shock-mount holes closest to the diff and moving the bottom of the front shocks to the hole closest to the wheels. Then he tightened up the rear spring collars Down to 12mm from the shock caps and then threaded outward the bottom heim joints on the rear shocks by a turn or two. Then he set the front shock spring collars to 5mm from the upper shock caps and came up with almost the same results but he didn’t put heavier shock fluid in the front like y’all did, he put more in the rear. I dunno.
