I went from no traxxas rc's in my life (mostly RadioShack) to my first ever traxxas last christmas of 22 (C8 snap-on corvette) & this year 2023 I bought two traxxas slashes (one new and one used) 😊

I think these are a perfectly reasonable first RC for anyone. Fast enough for fun, slow enough to be durable which is a great combo along with new HD parts upgrades. 25mph is perfectly reasonable for a 2s truck. It could be geared up a little along with a fan slapped in it. And of course a 3s system dropped in it when someone is ready or feels that they need it. Parts are everywhere and traxxas customer service is great generally. The Gorgon is great at half the price but it is brushed and customer service from horizon is terrible. Parts are not a problem., also easy to upgrade. Either way you go is waaaaaaaaaaay better and less expensive than anything I had coming into the hobby! I think these 2s brushless traxxas are great start for anyone! Great video brother 💯 🤜 🤛

I realize there are haters for Traxxas, but they are extremely smart about the products they offer. These BL-2s units are all about discontinuing brushed kits in the future. When you compare them to the brushed systems, they are making something vastly superior for 30 bucks more. You can call them expensive, slow, whatever- but Traxxas knows what they are doing. The competition in the marketplace has been a boon to the consumer. We are getting so many choices for how to spend our money- for many this will be perfect for them. I don't care if somebody thinks this is an outdated design. Traxxas has improved this chassis platform many times, and they make sure people can buy parts for years to come. That's worth something to many people. For me, I'm not a fanboy of anything- except when it comes to racing- and I'm a Team Associated diehard in that regard. When it comes to bashing and general hobbies- I like all of the brands, and I'll weigh all of the options when it comes to picking a particular vehicle. Competition is great for all of us.

Nice. I just picked up the Rustler 4x4 bl 2s from the LHS. I took advantage of the 2s lipo and battery charger deal. It comes included with the price right now 👍. I let my friend drive it at work. He's new to RC. 25 mph was more than enough for him. He's new to rc. And even for me, it felt fine on road at 25mph. I did put a 15t pinion and will see what happens 😂

Commenting from the future - Traxxas is offering a charger and 3000mAH battery free with purchase of any BL-2S product. I got the FIesta ST Rally, now with battery and charger, for 330$ as my intro to rally cars. I gotta say, on an actual tight, technical dirt line....WHY THE HELL DO YOU NEED THE VXL?!?!?!? Holy crap the BL-2S is FAST for such a simple motor and setup. I agree that for wide open dirt fields, the VXL can make more of a case of itself. And sure, if you were really getting crazy, the VXL has much more available, but the BL-S2 vehicles, out of the box, are PLENTY quick in any smaller environment. And as someone who primarily plays with their RC ccars on trails, the BL-2S equipped vehicles seem like a match made in heaven. I'd still say my axial SCX10 III is my official "trail buddy", but my FIesta has quickly become a common sight on trails with fewer tree roots and more tight corners and gentle elevation changes. Learning to drift it has been a lot of fun and I look forward to taking it to more places in the future. Overall, the BL-2S upgrade was a blessing for traxxas and its customers.

I picked one up and I have a blast with it, I have multiple Xmaxx trucks, a XRT and I still have fun with a Rustler 2S truck, there is a really cool light kit I installed, it has a bumper LED light bar, and a different roof skid with a LED light bar in it also...so 2 LED light bars on my rustler, super bright!!!

I have recently got back into RC at the ripe old age of 48. Have bought 5 arrmas since June. Maybe gotta to add a traxxas. Great videos, recently and new subscriber because i just love your content.

The 2S rustler is awesome for any experience level, but if you like the Arrma trucks get yourself a Xmaxx, they are awesome 💯

I have a traxxas rustler 2wd I love it! Already replaced some parts and did some repairs and still doing it on the steering and alignment. It’s very easy to work on! I recommend it for kids so they can be hands on! Traxxas has a deal if you bring in your old motor and speed control you can get a discount and faster motor and control.

awesome, i think they did a great job on this at least in my case. wanted just something pretty care free. got the stampede lol hoss. and its been the most used rc i have since i got it. if my first slash kit came brushless i would have kept it. kit was $200 this $329 with HD kit, brushless and clipless body good deal first thing i did to my stampede was swap out the servo to an amazon special one and that made a big difference, next thing is to gear up! keep the videos coming! 👊

My honest opinion, Arrma Mega in this case. Mega truck for beginners at any age.

And for some reason it's picking up am fm radio 📻 with the cool upgraded antenna 📡 👽 nice 👍 😮😊

Love them all for their own reasons.

The BL-2s will replace the Titan 12t. Huge news for the RC racing world where the 12t has reigned supreme for basically forever. Its still a starter range for newbies to the sport as well. As I am sure you know, most who start with a brushed model (any MFG) are going to switch to brushless anyway, this is the new entry level. But like I said, for the RC racing world this is the biggest news in years.

For 70 more just better off getting the VXL then you have tqi which is better for a beginner and child. You can always run it on 2S or tune it down with the app and I believe you can do it following some prompts off the esc. I really dont understand the antenna it looks like my boat. Maybe if it was priced at 200-250 you could justify the cost of upgrades its only 70 more for the VXL I have bounced mine off a few things never broke a thing so for me I dont get the heavy duty part either I think its marketing to justify the price. Yes the Rustler is a cool rc this one seems fun just for me the price point is too close I would go with the vxl all day.

i like these things for alot of reasons. im assuming a little faster on the stampede with the larger tires and slower from the slash with smaller tires

I HATED my xmaxx because the gears!!! Stripped two or three sets. Set them up all kinds of different ways and still stripped. Sold the truck….

Is there a difference in power with the BL-2s vs the VXL on 2s? If there isn’t why not just have the vxl and run it on 2s? Or is it worth it just based on the heavy duty parts?

Do they even race rustlers anymore, or stadium trucks, i just dont know..... seems like the buggy/truggy class sort of took over, i still do have a soft spot for the rustler tho!!!! Im more into bashers and SCT, buggys I guess at this point

I bought the Slash 4x4 bl2s and was very disappointed , its the slowest 2s 3300 ive ever owned and the brake is to soft . Threw it in garbage got a Hobbywing combo for $60 3300 kv on 2s now im hitting 40 mph , please explain that one 🤔

This would be nice with a hobbywing 3s system in it

the motor itself also only 2s so you need to upgrade to different motor for 3s too

If they were cheaper I'd already have one and be on my way to swapping out the electronics. The performance out of the box is too underwhelming for me at over 300 dollars. I can list several RCs that are faster on 2S.

I knew someone was going to ask that but that also means you were paying attention 👍 that's why the test is here to show he made a mistake I could have edited out his wording right? But I think we all thought out of the box it was going to be faster so it's right in line with a brushed system but now it's brushless giving longevity to that component. 👍💯

The Talk is that it will replace the 12T in Mud Boss Racing.. The BL-2S IS SLOWER.. It runs Cooler and May Last Longer but be prepared to Gear up against the 12Ts.. I was disappointed in the difference.

It does even sounds brushed 😂 when slash first cane out I think it was 229 I drove heck out of it went through couple brushed motors before brushless brushless was pretty new and pretty expensive esthetic lipo batteries the velinion system was more than the rc . Funny they use same one , I think older ones were better . Than for bigger releases they partnered with castle creations who basically first with brushless systems

For people who like over priced 20 plus year old designs?? I truly don't get it. For that price or a literal few dollars more there is the Arrma 3s lineup, a regular or brushless upgraded Gorgon, Rival MT10, multiple Team Associated cars, lots of choices for the price. Traxxas definitely capatalizes on name recognition and squeezes every penny out of a design. If they lightly revamp anything they need to give the sky high priced Summit and bring it up to 2015 standards at least.
