Lyrics:
I can't sleep tonight
Everybody's saying everything is alright
Still I can't close my eyes
I'm seeing a tunnel at the end of all of these lights
Sunny days, where have you gone?
I get the strangest feeling you belong
Why does it always rain on me?
Is it because I lied when I was seventeen?
Why does it always rain on me?
Even when the sun is shinning I can't avoid the lightning
I can't stand myself
I'm being held up by invisible men
Still life on a shelf when
I've got my mind on something else
Sunny days, oh, where have you gone?
I get the strangest feeling you belong
Why does it always rain on me?
Is it because I lied when I was seventeen?
Why does it always rain on me?
Even when the sun is shinning I can't avoid the lightning
Oh, where did the blue sky go?
Oh why is it raining so?
It's so cold
I can't sleep tonight
Everybody's saying everything is alright
Still I can't close my eyes
I'm seeing a tunnel at the end of all of these lights
Sunny days, oh, where have you gone?
I get the strangest feeling you belong
Why does it always rain on me?
Is it because I lied when I was seventeen?
Why does it always rain on me?
Even when the sun is shinning I can't avoid the lightning
Oh, where did the blue sky go?
And why is it raining so?
It's so cold
Why does it always rain on me?
Is it because I lied when I was seventeen?
Why does it always rain on me?
Even when the sun is shinning I can't avoid the lightning
Why does it always rain on me?
Why does it always rain on, on

I moved to Scotland as an German, settled in and my Scottish girl friend broke up with me, I stayed 3 years after that, I loved the country and the kind people, still it was a bitter Sweet time in Scotland, and this music reminds my on those cold Scottish nights and the pain I felt ……… now I am in my 50s and the music Transports me back to those days……greetings from Berlin Germany 🇩🇪

I moved to Istanbul from Kenya to start college in 2007. Due to the language barrier I struggled to make friends in my first year there. I moved into this tiny cold apartment and I used to spend whatever little money I had on calling my family back home due to being so homesick. I had an mp3 player that I used to listen to in the train on my way to school and in the evening on my way back home. It had limited memory and most of the times I had to decide which songs to delete in order to add new ones. I could never bring myself to delete this song. It captured that moment of my life so perfectly. To this day whenever I hear this song it's like a time machine back to that moment of my life.

1999.. I was 13 living in the middle of nowhere after moving out from big city due to my family's financial struggle. My parents bought a stereo for me and my brother. This song was on the radio at that time. I remember recording it and playing it over and over again. Even when there was no electricity the batteries kept the music playing. Tough time but I miss it. Great band! Long live Travis!!!

I was 18 and was graduating high school. Mtv2 is playing in the living room while mom is cooking dinner and Gramma walks over every evening at the same time, while this video is playing. She knew most of the lyrics and we would dance and sing while mom cooked. Oh, to have those moments back again. I miss her so much.

Summer 1999. I met my husband for the first time in person and spent a week in a St. Bride's Castle, Wales. This song kept playing, and we both knew it was the story of our past. We married three months later and are still mad about each other. This song brings back happy memories for the both of us!

"Why Does It Always Rain on Me?" The song was written by frontman Fran Healy who wrote the song while on holiday in Israel. He wanted to go somewhere sunny because in his hometown of Glasgow it rained all the time. In an interview at the Live 8 concert, he explained that he was spending a short holiday in the southern vacation city of Eilat, Israel in the middle of the winter. The city is known for its hot weather even during winter time, but surprisingly it began to rain for two days during his stay. When Travis began to perform this song at the 1999 Glastonbury Festival, after being sunny for several hours, it began to rain exactly when the first line was sung.

He was inspired to write it after it rained on a trip to Israel. He has referenced it many times. "Fran Healy started writing the song while on holiday in Israel. According to Healy, he wanted to go somewhere sunny in the middle of winter because in his hometown of Glasgow, Scotland, it rained frequently. His accountant suggested the southern vacation city of Eilat, Israel which is known for its hot weather even during winter time. However, on the way to the hotel, it began to rain, which lasted until he left a week later.[4]"
