Travis Tritt surprised the packed crowd at Tootsies by playing a set in the top floor bar. I happened to be in the front row watching the previous band before he showed up.

    Underrated???? He is literally one of the Class of 89. He is listed as one of the people that made country music mainstream to larger audiences.

    I had no idea TT was the kind of musician that could pick up another man's guitar and play such a complex song, and play it like he's playing his own guitar. That was fun.

    People tend to put country artists in a box. Not all of them are Luke Bryan or Jason Aldean or Florida Georgia line. Travis is a badass and extremely talented along w/ Hank jr and some others also.

    Nothing complex about this song. Travis has influenced my music greatly. No Vacation from The Blues is a song He and Gary Rossington of Skynyrd wrote. No vacation is complex.

    Allen Boyd, you are so right, I knew zToy Caldwell personally and have played with him countless times. Both of us was in the marine corps. He was a great guy, went to his funeral. Sad, only song played at his funeral was can't you see?

    I have to say that I have been a country music fan for the last 50 of my 70 years. I remember TT from many of his hit songs in the 80's and 90's. Sadly it only been in the last few years listening to old stuff here on KZread that I have come to appreciate his talent. He has a great voice but damn it this man can make a guitar talk and the banjo too. He is blessed with some awesome GOD given talent for sure.

    To me he is one of the greatest country artists: great voice, great guitar player and entertainer. I was blessed I have him seen live one time he came to Germany. He was driving on to the stage on a Harley!

    He did the same in 1996ish in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada. It was awesome. The band took a break but Mr. Tritt sat on a bar stool and played acoustic guitar and sang a few songs until the band came back. He was great!
