Its been forever since i heard about the henry watching thor is what drove him bonkers was a thing, and its still stupidly hilarious each time
This idea never crossed my mind, but i love their parallels. FU's like Travis in NHM1 and Travis is the Death Metal to him in NHM3. Then the whole feedback on fear reminded me quite a bit about Travis fighting Holly Summers. Suda has some amazing callbacks like that, and made this really well written
I like how NMH3 flips the meaning of the title on its head from Travis going "there are no heroes only assassins" theme of the first game to "im no hero, just a guy looking for revenge" to literally making so that theres no more "heroes" because they're essentially alien invaders
The beginning for FU was like NMH2 when they killed Bishop. Travis would've done the same thing if he didnt have to play by the rules of the UAA.
Everybody theorizing about Henrys Story when the game itself flat out calls him a POSER.
Something I also like about Fu is that his first phase even plays like a NMH1 boss where they're invincible until their attacks are finished and Fu's boss design is very similar as you can't hit him until the eyes close and they only do so after he wiffs an attack.
NMH3 is a rollercoaster of mixed feelings, as Suda stated, there is a lot of cut content, and I noticed it A LOT while playing it, but then, jeez, I loved it's narrative as it is the more Suda-ish of all the four games, not because the bizarre stuff, but the subtext, it is also the game in the franchise with funnier gameplay and mechanics, but the cherry on top is F.U, what a great antagonist, it's my favourite in the franchise with Juvenile, I know most of people don't notice it, but, NMH3's subtext is not even about violence on media anymore, it's a game about friendship, wich is a werid ass topic for a Suda game, but that's what it is, and the fact F.U, as an antagonist, also follows that topic, was a great surprise.
I think Travis, Henry and Jeane could all possibly be unreliable narrators.
My feelings for no more heroes 3 is so complicated, I still like it though I don't think there is a bad game in the bunch of them. My favorite is still 1 though
It's funny cause as I was playing I thought about how Travis was living like the mc in the first 2 games while this guys just being a final boss
"I want to be a hero by my own standards"
There's an interesting aspect to Travis being this manifestation of OTAKU, and how it correlates to friendship.
Travis touchdown: goes from careless and trigger Happy to merciful. When he begins no more heroes 3 he's moved by the possibility of saving the world
I actually want to see more analysis on Henry toxic, and crazy cult side of him just by watching a freaking MCU movie. As one commenter mentioned, Travis is the positive fandom, and Toxic Fandom. I wanna see more of that analysis.
I feel like another thing that could explain Henry's story contradicting Jeane's is that they lost their memories (Henry only says HE lost his memories but considering the 3 siblings were all kidnapped by the same group, it's reasonable to assume all of their memories were erased).
Fu reminds of homelander
Literally just finished NMH3 yesterday. Perfect time to watch this video
the dichotomy between Travis and Fu is similar to the one between Yuji and Mahito
Amazing analysis, I hope to see more! Good job! Suscribed! :D
