I cannot fly on my own either also I couldn't drive my car for 6 months after a very bad panic attack. All I can say is did Tommy get lucky or what such a beautiful woman inside and out! So great your talking about this again its like therapy for me blessing from the UK

It’s so nice to hear you guys talk about this stuff, anxiety sucks lol. I remember telling my bf to take me to the hospital cause I thought I was having a stroke. It was just a panic attack but the symptoms are crazy similar. I didn’t go to the hospital lol

valium is the only thing that can get me to leave my house. i been socially isolated since a kid and live by my own. i'm 25 and i am gonna try go to therapy i dun wanna be a hermit for life. i get anxiety bout taking it tho cos docs always say it's not long term its addictive etc and i feel guilt. but it's honestly the only thing that helps me. and i don't think i can function without. antidepressants dont help my anxiety. if it's not too personal can you lemme know like how you dose and what not? cos i have a tendency to take like 40mg when i leave the house. but i would like to take 5.

I had to take Valium at night for suspected TMJ and had horrible panic attacks. Only took it for a couple of nights but I felt so shitty and couldn't sleep so had to stop.

Brittany- you need to look at the attachment theory. Basically all anxiety is rooted in separation anxiety. You’ve talked about your mom before, if she had bad anxiety when she had you and then you learned that behavior from her. Stems from our first few years of life... seriously crazy stuff.

Be careful clenching Brit. I have full on tmj from subconsciously clenching my jaw due to my anxiety. And once the damage is done, you're fucked. Found out I had it in 2010. When I'd clench down it felt like I had gum balls under my skin on my jaws. Whenever I'd have someone feel it when I'd bite down everyone would scream and cringe so hard. Havent been able to chew gum in 10 years. Gone through months of physical therapy. Then I did another round of PT a few years later. I.physically cant clench anymore bc it hurts too bad, cant even do it subconsciously. (I do it sometimes when I sleep tho) so it's gotten less miserable as it was a decade tho. But I still get bad headaches and my neck and shoulder muscles hurt all day everydau... bc all those muscle stem from the jaw muscles. And I carry my anxiety in my neck and shoulders. It's an absolute nightmare. At one point I didn't know how I'd ever be able to live through this pain for my entire life. But PT did help a lot. Idk if I've just gotten used to the pain to where I dont notice it as much anymore, or if years of clenching less has eased the muscle.spasm pain. Idk, all I know is DO NOT CLENCH YOUR TEETH. YOU WILL REGRET IT AND ITS PERMANENT

How do you get on something like Valium without straight out asking for it? I’m assuming your psychiatrist (?) would take that as “drug seeking behavior”.

I should’ve died the night my fiancé was murdered I front of me but the killer missed my body when he tried shooting at me.. so now I’m kinda just not as fearful as death as I was before. I agree with Travis growing up in riverside the people I associated with there were definitely hooligans lol I’ve tried every anti depressant since I was 10. Every single one of them I always ended up having to stop taking them because they always made me feel worse no matter how long I tried taking them. Still finding other ways to cope on a daily basis though. I don’t take anything for it now or for my anxiety and I stopped smoking weed last June. It’s been rough to say the least but I don’t have a chronic cough now. I used to smoke the amount of Travis used to. I save so much money now 😂😂😂

I haven't been through what you have. I did smoke weed like you and Travis and agree about saving money and my lungs now that I've abstained for the last year and a half. If I go back to cannabis it will be edibles. Like you I've had no success with anti-depressants/anti-anxiety meds. I've dabbled a few times with mushrooms and found it very insightful and had some breakthrough realizations. I prefer not to indulge in it too much and may not do it again. I have had most of my success with "recovery" by attending and participating in support groups for depression, anxiety and trauma (ptsd). I've always preferred alone time and didn't think being in a group would help but to my surprise I really did well with it, even with my social anxiety. Cognitive Behavior Therapy, in the form of 10 week group "classes", worked very well also. One on one counselling can be great if you find the right therapist for you. Exercise has been good also, but, oddly I don't do it nearly as much since stopping the weed. I've always been into meditation so can't really say its helped. Just saying all this because there are things to do other than rely solely on meds though they do work for some people, just not everyone.

Just FYI for a little anxiety flying-relief... if a plane's landing gear won't deploy then there is a manual lever to get it down. If by some freak accident they both don't work then they just land on it's belly on the concrete which would just feel like a rough landing, it would never explode. (My husband is an aircraft maintenance engineer at JFK and he heard that part and felt the need to let you know that your never going to explode from that). So you can cross that off your list of reasons to be afraid of flying lol ✌🏼❤️
