You can see its a different glove lol, different patterns on it, and Cloke's didnt have the black rubber grip spots on it, you can clearly see that on the footage they showed, and further more, 1 of the marks they showed was a chest mark (completely unafected by the glove) and another was marked with his left hand doing almost all of the work and the last 2 shouldnt have even been paid marks coz he dropped them.....

Not to mention that they played Sydney in the qualifying final and it wasn't even played at the Swans home ground (despite them finishing top of the ladder)...and another point the Dogs came 7th and played not 1 final at home.

In gaelic (irish) football where are allowed to play with any sort of gloves personally from a GAA point of view I see nothing wrong it. If its in the rules of AFL not to use them fair enough

It's just that it's not commonplace for gloves to be worn, Travis Cloak had issues with his finger joints and I think the glove helped stop them popping out. But if that was the glove he was wearing I don't see why he couldn't just wear one with less grip

joelabo I avoid it too. The grip doesn’t last and becomes smooth very quickly. If you use that stuff then you lack the confidence to mark naturally.

Apparently its "unfair" but if everyone wears them/has the option to i dont see how its unfair. NRL and union are stupid for not allowing it, it'd improve the game flow for players and would also be good for spectators as no drop balls every 10 mins and quality of play kick plays in particular would rise. Dont forget the amount of times a team who's been playing better drops the ball, other team gets a set of 6 in the opposition half and scores the first try and the team who played the better 10-20-30 minutes etc goes on to lose all because they lost momentum off a drop ball, then had a try scored against them and they dropped their heads.

Well he assumed it was fine and it wasn’t in the rule books as cheating. Therefore it wasn’t, if it was cheating you would have thought the 28 previous games he wore the glove the AFL would have picked up on it. But it was not illegal therefore it was fine

The culture of the AFL players is "It is not cheating if you can get a away with it". Cheating is an umpire not paying a blatant push in the back, head high tackles, throwing the ball, paying a mark for a kick that did not travel 15 metres. Also not paying a shepherd or bump when the ball is further than 5 metres away.
