Hi mumsh. Do you need to book the bassinet? We will be traveling in few months with Emirates with my 2 years old and 9 month old baby, we booked the bulkhead seats already but I’m not sure about the bassinet if I needed to book it as well.

Hello mumsh, is your baby 9 months old now? or will be 9 month in few months? I asked because it might be the same problem with ours we booked the seats way way ahead of our flight like 8 months ahead of it so what happened was when it was our flight already my second baby was already big and won’t fit on the bassinet it was really disappointing and exhausted because we had no choice but he had to be on my lap for the entire flight. Now for the bassinet you don’t need to book it separately when you choose the seats make sure it has a baby icon then it means it has a bassinet normally you are in front row so they can assemble the bassinet after taking off.

HI! How were you able to book those seats with a toddler? We tried today and we were told bulkhead area seats were reserved for infants. Our baby is 15 months old

Hi log on the website manage booking select seats and choose the baby icon if it's still available you can still book it. Thats what we did. But check the weight first your baby might not be able to fit on the bassinet if you were after on that as well. They didn't allow my 14 month old then to sleep on the bassinet. They only good thing on the front row was the toddlers have space to play around.

from Manchester to dubai they didn't allow my 14 month old to sleep on the bassinet . But did manage from dubai to manila. Was stranged.

@@lifewithmaria23 Hi Thank you for your reply. So my daughter is also too big (weight) for the bassinet. We flew to Dubai a few months ago, and we called emirates and they had us book two adult seats, and infant on lap. At the time my daughter was a year old but she was too heavy for the bassinet. It was very uncomfortable for us to have her on our lap the entire trip, but we did love that front row had space for her to play, thats why we want to book those seats again. However, when we go online to book the seats, if we select two adults and one child under two in her own seat, it wont let us book the child seat. We called and they told us under two years old cannot book their own seat in the front row, they need to be in the lap and on the bassinet, but they dont understand that my child weighs too much.

I think we can book seat for infant at child rate provided we get separate seat for infant. Car seat is must in that case

If you book a seperste seat for a child under 2 (if you plan touse the car seat or not) then they won't assign you the bassinet seat as that is only for a lap child. There is also a policy that the bassinet seat goes to the youngest child it is requested for so you may be assigned it and then someone with a younger child requests it and you will be reassigned different seats.

Can you please suggest where is the best seat to choose for family with toddler? Thanks in advance

I suggest you choose the window seat your toddler will get to see the clouds at day time or just infront of the wing it’s quieter and better view of the wing your kid will be amazed looking on those flashing lights it will keep him entertain.

Hi when we flew in October my son was already 1 year and 2 months old. From Manchester to Dubai they didnt allow my son to sleep on bassinet as it was small for him. We actually tried just to measure it but he ended sleeping on my arms.

Thank you so much! Did you buy the ticket from their official website? I tried doing so and before checking out there was an option to purchase seats in advance, but it's pretty costly so i'm torn, but at the same time i can't risk not sitting next to my spouse and having to entertain my toddler the whole flight 😂@@lifewithmaria23

@@stefitaneysa3018hi so we booked it from skyscanner and chose the cheapest travel agent. and then once you chose the flight and paid it will send you an email confirmation and link to manage booking at emirates site from there you can actually choose the seat at no extra charge.
