Thank you Theresa for sharing your story. Ugh, I know that uncomfortable feeling trying to please and/or appease a spouse who is making things very difficult while on a Disney vacation. It is like walking on eggshells and you find yourself keeping him happy at the expense of your own enjoyment. My advice to anyone who has a spouse who has no desire to go on a Disney vacation is to leave him or her at home. Go on a solo Disney vacation or with other Disney loving family or friends.

I think you hit on one of the reasons that the dining plan is so popular, despite it likely not being a savings when doing the calculations. The value is in it all being paid for and not stressing with each check you receive.

Ok I know Disney is expensive but on any vacation there will be spending. Whether it’s to a theme park or to a city or to cruise. You have to pay for food, drinks, and souvenirs. Vacation doesn’t negate spending money.

My husband hates waiting in lines and hates spending money. We went in 2019. I made sure that he never saw a bill/check. I paid all and would always tell him that I had planned out everything there was nothing to worry about. At the time, there was fast passes and I made sure everything he wanted to do was fast passed. He like it, but still it was work on me to make sure all was happy, but worth it.

My husband is by no means a Disney fan and our WDW trip was definatly about me and my dream, BUT he still wanted to go and still had a good time. I was thoughtful about not making him do things I knew were not going to be his thing and we all had a great time. Price wise it helped us to do the dining plan even though we did not save $ because both of us would have fixated on prices. We did the dining plan and had gift cards so we could be present and not distracted by price. DCL is a different story. He has no interest in cruising and I won't make him. My son and I cruise without him. I invite him every time but I refuse fo pay that much to sponsor someone else's bad time or my own. DCL and the parks just cost entirely too much money to drag around someone who doesn't want to be there and have their negativity hurt everyone else's good time.

Sunburnt and fish less …😂😂😂…I love Kevin! When I was little and we would go to Disney, my dad would take me on Mr. Toad’s (his favorite ride) and then he would leave us to go play golf. I am a huge fan of splitting up - whether it be at Disney, on a cruise, or a Europe trip - let everyone have some free time to experience what they want - plus too much togetherness can breed contempt! 🤷🏻‍♀️

I just can't tour with someone who doesn't really love to be there. I prefer to go alone...same if it were the beach.. "too sandy"..life is too short to do that...

Teresa knows my DH, Mark. I always make sure he is agreeable with what we plan. Our trips are as much his trips as they are mine. Fortunately, we're usually in agreement for the most part. If not, I go solo.

Hillarious. Wait until the Dinjng Plan came back or take him on a cruise. He could just order room service 24/7. That would be his favorite part the whole trip.

But you don't understand the amount of planning Teresa did for him. Nobody understands how grateful they should feel just to be at the whim of these people. Just shut up and enjoy it! 😂 This is insane. I'm at the part of the video where Teresa is admitting to lying about how she spends their money. I just have no idea why her husband is angry😂

It is always disrespectful to piss and moan while on vacation. Either don't go or be a good sport. If you are anti-Disney, ask yourself how many vacations did you "force" others on? Please be a part of the planning process so it will be more enjoyable and you can do something you want.

I have no idea why I was thinking about this in Pilates class but I think Teresa should take her husband for a romantic Animal Kingdom themed weekend trip. Then again my boyfriend doesn’t believe in vacations unless he is going somewhere for work anyway - meanwhile I go on my cruises, Disney, the Caribbean, Europe solo or with my Mom or friends. 7 years later I have yet to get him to join me on vacation so I should not be giving anyone advice. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

If he doesn't like Disney then a Disney vacation was not the brightest move. She's worked for the travel company for a long time. 😏 He should have known what to expect. It sounds like he is just cheap and wanted to complain. Things cost money and theme parks are expensive. 🤯 There are also lines for most things. 🤨 Just like in EVERY other theme park. Next time leave the wet blanket at home and just have a girls' trip. 😂

It was a good story but why exactly couldn't you just give him a little time at the park he actually likes? You "dug your heels in" to do just what you want instead of giving him one day at AK.. and during your wedding anniversary no less. Then you had to spend more energy trying to make him happy doing stuff he doesn't want to do. While i personally feel you have a very very grumpy husband and it must take a lot of patience on your part, if it's always about what you want then i can see why he's that way. Why should he pay attention if it's never up to him?

I think you all are a little tone deaf to how high Disney prices are. It’s not normal to pay $200 for 4. I don’t care if you’re on Disney property or not.

That doesn't sound crazy for a 3 course dinner for 4 adults, after tax and tip. Even outside of Disney, there are plenty of places that give less food for double that price.

  • @GiaBlinks

I agree with you. Especially when in her next breath she says that she spent $300 on dinner the night before. I'm a parent of two kids, and my entire life now is multiplying the cost of everything by 4. Her husband was not the one with the problem here, clearly he's the responsible person in that family. Now she's online talking sh!t about him, with the peanut gallery chiming in and snickering? Finances aside, I would not take someone to Disney who would not want to be there. This entire story is selfish. Happy Anniversary to Teresa, huh?

$200 for 4 adults is not crazy, heck you can easily do that at a place like Chili's, especially if you have a drink, get an appetizer or 2 for the table with entrees and dessert- that would easily put you at $200. Everywhere you eat out is expensive. Heck, for the inedible crap you get at McDonald's they have the audacity to charge $10-13 for a "value meal" . I guess the clogged arteries are a "gift with purchase ". 😉

@@GiaBlinkseww.. that’s a bit much. He sounds like a pain in the a$$, at least in this situation. Her only fault in not preparing him on prices, which she said she did try to have the conversation before but he wasn’t listening. I have one of those too, I’ve learned to say tough ti**ies you weren’t listening. We are a family of 5 Disney adults. Disney is expensive, we know that going in. That’s why you plan and prepare. We pay for what want and pass on things we don’t. Theresa planned and prepared, she knew what they could do

  • @GiaBlinks

@@kellykristine1238 we'll just have to agree to disagree because "tough titties, you weren't listening" is an insanely immature response to a spouse having any sort of financial dispute. The lengths that you Disney adults are willing to go to is crazy.
