Traveling to Utila Honduras 2021 - Everything You Need to Know
Everything you need to know for traveling to Utila Honduras. Join me as I fly into San Pedro Sula and make the journey to La Ceiba where I catch the Utila Dream Ferry over to the remote island of Utila! We'll go all around the island and find some great places to eat and even do some scuba diving to see the second largest barrier reef, swim with whale sharks, and then hop over to one of the smaller uninhabited islands (Water Cay).
How to Get to Utila from San Pedro Sula:
By Ferry, Utila Dream Ferry - utilaferry.com/
By Plane, Chartered Flights www.cmairlines.com/en/home/
Transportation Around the Island: If you plan to stay in any place away from the town center, then it is highly recommended you find a good tuk tuk driver and get his whatsapp contact information. A tuk tuk driver can be hired for about $20 a day and this will allow you to get a ride anytime, get your errands done and it is a lot cheaper than buying per trip. For TukTuk Driver and Water Taxi recommendations, leave a comment below.
Scuba Diving
There are ample diving sites all around the island and for the most part, the water currents are mild and safe. Some of the diving companies that operate on the island that you may want to consider include: Utila Dive center, Alton’s dive center, Gunter’s ecomarine dive center, and Parrots dive shop
Restaurants
The two most recommended places are Mango Tango and El Castillo. Other places to eat include Che Pancho, Mario’s Place, Rio coco Cafe and Hot spot Cafe. Breakfast is usually under $5 and you can have a decent lunch/supper for $10-$15.

Honduras surpass in anything the other countries that you had visited: Best gatronomy. Two oceans, Pacific and Caribbean. The world second largest coral reef in the World: Islas de la Bahia. 94 Natural Reserves and National Parks. Second largest Botanical Garden in the World, in Tela. THE ONLY country in the world where every year happen RAIN OF FISH! The Second largest Rain Forest after the Amazon. The Most Beautiful Mayan city, Copan. The only Central American country with 5 international airports. The country with the largest number of honduran english/ german speakers . The country with the largest Solar Panels Park in Latin America, Home to the most oldest clock in the world, working, with 1000 years of antiquity, in Comayagua. And all this is not even the half of why Honduras has more that many countries in the world, regarding natural beauty, history, culture, gastronomy, etc to offer to the world tourist. Is not by accident that Honduras is the country of FIVE STARS.
Great job girl! I loved it!

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful experience in Honduras and the Island of Utila. One thing l want to clarify is that the “baleada” is strictly a Honduran dish and not a Central American one as mentioned in your video. It was invented in La Ceiba in the 1960s or 1970s by a woman who was a food street vendor. Thank you. Carlitos. Riverdale, Bronx, New York.
Awesome! Great video. We plan to visit this Fall.

Thank you! Since you’re going a bit outside the whale shark time frame, your best bet would be booking a tour from Boddens and Bushes (recommended from a local) they can take you out and find the whale sharks for you to swim with if they’re around🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽. If you need other information about getting to the island and restaurants etc.. check out my blog page www.gowithRo.me I hope you have a blast on your trip! Lived on the island back in 1999 n it was a wild place back then. At the time I worked 28/28 in Africa n traveled back n forth every month. Loved the island n bought two lots at the end of Pumpkin Hill road on right facing water. Spent many days out there but someone started taking the sand off of my lots while I was gone so ended up selling n making a little n never went back cuz I started going to Philippines n now live here n people here are so much nicer but food is not as good. God Bless

Hi any suggestions about how to reach a Tuktuk driver? Also, I need to know the best way to get from the airport to the bus company or station in downtown san pedro sula that will take me to La ceiba and then what ferry I need to take to utila. 😇😇😇

Hi there! Once you get off the ferry there will be tons of tuktuk drivers there waiting to take you wherever you are trying to go! Or if you want to contact the tuktuk driver I used, his name is Chover, you can contact him via WhatsApp +504 9584-9082. Hmm, you probably just want to take a taxi from the airport and then just look up Utila Dream Ferry. The link is also posted in the description of my video. Good luck on your travels!!
