Great review. I have just completed a round trip from Pretoria to Shelley Point. I have the 2023 automatic. The Jimny was modified with General Graber AT 215 tires, 5 mm EFS suspension, Frontrunner load bars and a throttle controller. My fuel consumption was 11.3 km/l. Fuel range 380 km. The drive was very comfortable. The General Graber AT tyres are very quiet. Just be prepared for gust of wind when passing trucks. I travelled with extra 10 litres of fuel which I really did not needed. I am super impressed with the Jimny 😊

The Jimny is a very nice vehicle and you will truly enjoy it. It’s not the fastest on road but in my opinion, its one of the best adventure vehicles and theres endless options for mods 🙂

Ahaha, suddenly your steering wheel grip cover gives the optical illution of a bicycle tire! Have fun!!

Its a silicon one I picked up online because the steering wheel was very slippery, I think the dealership cleaners got too much sheen on the wheel before delivery. It was a quick fix.

You said it is quite loud inside the car with standard tires and suspension. Would the noise get louder with bigger all-terrain tires and a stiffer suspension? What car did you have before

You hear the road noise quite abit in the Jimny, but it doesn’t affect me at all, it all depends on the tyre you choose, I’ve noticed some are noisier than others. I got Dunlop 215/75r15 AT5’s at first all terrain and they were noisier than what I currently have which are 235 general grabbers at3 all terrains. Also if noise is of concern to you, I would recommend fireproof sound proofing. It doesn’t cost too much and it makes a huge improvement and it’s actually not too hard to install.

@@febuilds thanks going for a test drive tomorrow morning. Dealer said it's a 6 month wait, if we sign. I have always liked them. Wife hates the look. Currently drive a Toyota Kluger/Highlander

@@tugboat8475 you will love the car. Everyone I met loves the Jimny’s, even though they are abit under powered and small, there is just something about the Jimny that makes it so addictive and there are so many mods you can do.

The Engine noise and the whine concerned us at first because coming from much quieter cars, the whine sounded like something is wrong. However you get so used to it after your first thousand Km’s. You can reduce the noise inside drastically with some sound insulation installed and it doesn’t cost much. Its not hard to do. You will see some clips of sound insulation in the updates to come in the near future, we will only insulate the doors as it helps improve the sound from the speakers.

@@febuilds does the whining have a solution? I saw a comment somewhere saying that changing the transmission fluid could help
