Thanks brother. Your channel inspired me to try the bigger size. And I am really enjoying it. Thanks for the great content!
This video made me want to drink whiskey, smoke cigars, buy fountain pens, and write it all in a journal. :-)

Try the cover from Galen Leather...same inserts, but more room, and more elastics out of the box. I use both Gale. And Midori for different stuff, but the Galen one holds more inserts more gracefully. Love the disclaimer... I'll avoid the tree climbing...no promises on the rest.😂

I’ve heard Galen makes some really nice stuff. Thanks!
Hello, I hope this will make sense. Use a jump band to put two note books together. Next use a jump band to put two notebooks together. Now you will have two sets of two notebooks. Use a third jump band to combine those two sets. When you insert these two sets the TNs elastic will be on the central jump band not a notebook. I really hope that is coming across how I want. Your set up is nice and welcome to travelers notebooks.

Yes that makes sense. I’ll give it a try. Thanks and thanks for watching.
New Subbie here! I LOOOOVE seeing a guy planner! But the real reason I subscribed is your dry humor! Love the Pickle Plug and your encouragement to read the Japanese Instructions enclosed with your new cover! OH, I never could find a way to make that 4th book work as hard as I tried……😢

I loved seeing your set up! It's so refreshing to see a guy's perspective on tns! The pickles and tree moment made me giggle and instantly subscribe! I look forward to seeing more of your videos. As for the inserts I've been able to put 5 inserts, flush, by modifying the strings. I can't stand the inserts shifting about. You could try using the spare elastics from your tns to give each insert its own string or at least have two strings along the spine vs fitting all 4 with one string. I have two older TN mods on my channel that might be more helpful at explaining what I wrote 😅 The "Easy Mod" version doesn't require removing the original string and purchasing new string 😊

Very nice editing, sir! I used to have a regular size, but sold it after 8 years of use (and now am regretting this decision), the way I kept 4 inserts was I didn't attach the 4th one to any string or elastics. It was, what I called "a free spirit", it would be in the notebook but I could easily take it out if I needed to write something or didn't need it at all, and put it back

I love my galen leather travelers notebook. It's very slightly wider than the travelers company cover giving it better coverage when you have lots of inserts and it has 4 elastics in it, so they stay all the way in

I enjoyed the added comments within the video. 😂 I found that 2-3 notebooks work best. I only use two in my standards. There are leather TNs that have four strings from other companies. I just purchased two Travelers Company TNs and carry two books in each. I couldn’t resist getting the Camel, Brown and Blue standard TNs for my collection. TFS! 🤗

Love your sense of humor and great seeing your setup. Always interesting to see what people use their notebooks for. I see some others have recommended other brands to give you more room if you want to upgrade your traveler's notebook, so I'll put in my 2 cents - Chic Sparrow has a great "classic" design like the Traveler's Company, but it comes with 4 elastic bands and you can pick your leather type along with a few customization like a pen loop or a stitched edge. They can be a bit more expensive than the Traveler's Company depending on what you get but they always have incredible quality and customer service if you have any questions. Hope your system works out for you!

This may have been eight years ago, I learned that if you use x-ray, elastic and run it through the current holes in the travelers notebook and then either tied up top with the same class or find something similar to keep it sealed, you can add more notebooks and the books sticking out.

Sounds like an interesting mod! Thanks
I've found that three is indeed the limit. For both my passport and full size I have added additional elastics to the leather cover. All three books sit on their own elastic. This keeps them all in line. Normally the middle book will shift forward when you close it. Great video!

That’s a beautiful notebook holder. Despite the plastic, wrapped in n plastic , wrapped in more plastic 😂 while I can definitely see the reason why a bigger notebook is better, I find myself going for smaller ones. Something that I can keep in my pockets, because otherwise I’ll have to reach for the bigger notebook and if it’s “out of reach“ that means that I won’t take the note that I need to take… Thank you for this great video!

Thanks my friend. Yep I definitely like having a notebook handy in my pocket.
If you want to fit more than three books you really need to move to one of the fauxdori manufacturers, e.g. Chic Sparrow, where they offer many of their styles with as many as six bands (allowing 6 - 12 books to be carried) instead of the single band of the Travelers official. Looking good so far.

Or maybe thinner paper inserts? Penguin Paper co. Has different types and sizes of paper inserts available.
I have four in a september leather / newstorr fullsize travelers style cover. They have multiple spine bands that helps move the inserts around to get it to fold right. Might help you some

Greetings Brother (how old is your Grandmother? Mine is 57, from Noblesville, Indiana). great videos. really been enjoying them. I've had a Field Notes leather case (homemade) for years that I use on a daily basis. Got a full-size travellers before COVID but stopped using it and moved to some others. Your video's inspired me to get it off the shelf and start using it again.

@@SigogglinJack I agree, I'm using my Kindle more as well but I also borrow a lot of books from the library. My husband and I moved into a new apartment a couple of months ago and I truly became annoyed with all of the books I had to pack up/unpack lol. These days I don't really buy new books unless they're discounted, or if there's a new release that I try from the library first and REALLY love, then I'll go ahead and buy the physical copy. It's the best of both worlds and helps keep my book-spending budget under control, haha.
Wow, nicely made! You now have a reason to buy another cover!! You seen to slowly be moving away from bullet journaling.
