I fully agree with you. In Hungarian we have exactly the same saying. "Az alma nem esik messze a fájától." The apple does not fall far from its tree. Greetings from Hungary. By the way, going into water fully clothed is fun, and in the summer I also enjoy it, like millions of us, all over the world.
