I just submitted application for an Allied health position Hawaii. I'm so lost as to where I am going to stay and how I'm going to get around. Kealakekua is unwalkable but I'm dying to have a beautiful 3 month assignment.

Ariel Sunflower I’m not sure because I went as an RN but I would suggest checking with travel agencies that offer CRNA travel positions and see what’s available at the time you want to start working there.

I rented a car from the airport initially for the first week while I got settled then rented from a person on Turo.. but if I could do it over I would’ve rented form Turo to begin with, way more affordable.

I’m late but did the Agency pay for your house in Hawaii? I hear it’s crazy expensive there.

So in general, with travel nursing housing, you have two options--the agency can find your housing which is usually more pricey and will results in you receiving a lower stipend OR the agency gives you a stipend for you to find your own housing which is what I did--via airbnb, which in short, as of Aug 2019 there was a law passed in HI that prohibits most residents from hosting an airbnb. It is expensive so airbnb was the only way to save money on housing.

Dee Myles Morning 😊 I cant say I’ve done much research on travel nursing for LPNs specifically but I’ve heard that there are travel positions available for them. My advice would be to research travel agencies with LPN positions available and email a recruiter inquiring on the pay. Hope this helps! ❤️

Do you live in Hawaii?

I know this is old, but here's to hoping. I'm done in the states. Can an LPN NYS get travel work? I literally just came up with the idea. I figure, I can struggle anywhere. 1st thought Florida, then California, too many people, high coat of life. So I went straight to Hawaii. I'd much rather struggle living in a small room in Hawaii than here. Any guidance will be so greatly appreciated. I'm single, college aged child.

Hey! I personally haven’t researched LPN travel assignments in Hawaii but I would ask a few different travel nursing agencies and see if they have some positions avail or join a Hawaii travel nurse group on FB and see if there are any travel LVNs that currently work there or have in the past. I would think there are, but not sure. Hope this helps!
